Didn't know there was such a blade for a sawsall?

I believe they were Diablo blades.

Got my cheap ones at Harbor Freight, because I was using it for roots like  @ebinmaine was doing, so I didn't care if they got trashed in the dirt...

I have some good ones from Milwaukee as well...

Several different brands have those.

I tried out three or four different ones when we put up the canvas garage, horse stable. Had to cut a bunch of roots out and obviously didn't want to use a regular chainsaw.

My biggest concern as you could imagine would be to know how long it would last for each battery.

There's a bunch of factors that come in to play such as diameter of what you are cutting, but overall I would say that off and on cutting most of the times that I have used mine the battery lasts for an 1-2 hours+, plenty of time for a second battery to charge up.

I've tried the pruning blades. The ones I had my hands on were around 9 or 10 TPI.

They worked okay but there's not a lot of cross spread between the teeth.

Kind of a fine cutting blade.

I also tried some that were much more aggressive. 5 or 6 TPI maybe.

Those were a thicker metal and also more of a spread between the teeth.

Because of the fact that I was trying to cut as much dirt as wood you can imagine that they didn't last as long as they should have but they worked quite well.

I use them at work. Some of my job is grounds maintenance and it's quicker than the little ms180.

I have an ms180c.

I had it changed over to a more aggressive commercial chain and it's a LOT better but you've got me thinking about a comparison now...

Stihl told me there was no yellow chain available for the 180. What chain are you running ? Oregon? I personally have a stock MS250 and a tuned MS290.

Yeah that's correct right there.

I remember reading online somewhere and then also talking to my Stihl saw dealer that I should just stick with the green chain.

It worked okay. It wasn't like it was garbage. I just wanted something that was a little more aggressive.

I had my regular go to small engine repair shop make an Oregon chain and it's definitely an improvement.

I agree the green chains are a homeowner item. The 180 is a nice little saw.

Agreed. I've been very very happy with it. Lightweight. Good power. Balanced well.

The idea behind this thread I think I mentioned in the first post or two is that I need to do something for Trina.

She just can't use some power tools because the vibration affects her too much...

Id still say the sawzall, the blades seem to last better compared to a chain.

Battery powered seems the  way to go, Eric.
