PTO Belt Clarification

Recommended Posts

grinchsr

I have a late 80's 520HC with a swept axle.  Currently has a 60" deck on it with the special mule drive.  I want to put my 48" on it with the standard mule but when I did the mule drive hits the axle and I can't get the belt onto the inner pulley.  I came up with belt part number 94-2501 but one vendor says it is 102 inches and another says 103 inches or maybe they are both wrong.  Am I missing another belt number that I don't know about.  Deck #1548SC03  Tractor model is C1200E02

I failed to mention I tried a 102 inch belt.  Would a 103 inch make that much of a difference?  Like I mentioned the mule is up against the swept axle.

The 103" belt would give you 1/2" more clearance with the axle.

For future information,  the Gates crossover number is 6378, NAPA number is NBH 6378.  I have a NAPA belt coming for my 48" mower.  This belt measures ½ x 103.25.

Good idea Bill I forgot about them. Toro belts are getting a bit pricey

I also use the TSC belts with great success.     The nice part is, free return if it does not fit.      Sometimes I buy three, one size per the manual, one under and one oversize.

Keep the one that works best and return the other two.      Just keep the belts and the sleeve clean.
