This one may become the hot rod tractor. I’ll have to check it all over later. Fuel tank is missing.
These really aren’t all that special are they?I’m not sure it’s worth restoring to original.
I have a  Kohler m12 I can put on if the B&S is bad and I have a rear fuel tank and fender support from a 412-8.
Another project....

Not sure about them being special....called an “Anniversary model” but I think it was a chance for WH use up old leftover body parts in 1981. And then WH kinda cheaped out and slipped in the less costly Briggs.
That’s being said it’s still a WH so try saving it or pass along to another WH guy, always a better option than the scrapyard.

NICE......I like it.11 horse Briggs and Stratton? I've got one tucked away in the corner of my barn.It ran about 6 yrs ago.I always thought it was a kinda neat tractor.Mine is probably one of  the cosmetically best Wheel Horse tractors that I have.Hence stored inside.Mine has the ribbed front tires too.Must be front tire design just for these models??? Love the Kohlers, but I grew up with Briggs engines.Kinda soft spot for them.Have fun with your new toy.

Close!! He bought it years ago as a project tractor for his son. He says he got it running but then they lost interest. He lives right next to the lake😂. It’s been sitting for years.
I have an Good running M12 On a parts 312-8. I’m gunna throw it in this, get it mechanically sound and start playing with pulleys. 😁
I just have to get the 520h carb and ignition issues straightened out for my son. 🤔

Save all the PTO parts.  Those can be valuable for swapping in engines without thrust bearings.  Bill

I’m not sure what the difference is besides engine shaft size. There’s nothing special that I can see in the Pto mechanism.  0693CB38-8168-44BD-ACEE-C837324490C5.jpeg.70186b3d0db91a45401cece172cf07c3.jpeg2ACBB276-2E58-4270-84EF-9E182DBF8247.jpeg.d6ca4ff4ad61bbbe30b70f3498585227.jpeg9298BC9E-069E-49D8-BB4C-669472384800.jpeg.4b0a946177e2b6d105c2b801537ec2ca.jpegFF14DD17-3AFE-4A9A-9B95-41F43BF4738D.jpeg.730669fccfa3ff0893975fc4c65ecbf9.jpeg
i have all the parts if anyone needs them. I also have the B&S 11hp off of it if anyone wants it or needs parts. The flywheel is shot and it’ll need a full overhaul I would think. C72E94AC-060A-4DF3-BF57-53F8F78896DE.jpeg.7d8cd3e72ea29fa809a8772825efea83.jpegB2D958EE-DC64-4B60-92B4-F5FCA90C65C9.jpeg.1af9181220cb00dded8adaad3dbfb77e.jpegF07D51C3-AA51-4143-A6DC-313FC087E187.jpeg.ade36afecb25b956d5c2960541cd0d05.jpeg
I got the M12 in. Just needs a hood hinge lift and wiring.

I’ve got to get a rear fuel tank installed too.

This muffler came on the Briggs. It’s been welded but otherwise usable. 48362F04-1E12-4450-A70A-17D75A131747.jpeg.7eb25023b8a108998c85d28de40af352.jpeg

The hoop and mounting plate are Briggs specific.  The real value is in the drive pulley.  It's machined on the backside to accept a ball bearing.  I had to make a new steel plate to bolt to the motor, but that setup allowed me to use a Kohler Command from a Cub Cadet that did not have thrust bearings.  Bill

Someone on here was looking for that drive pulley not to long ago.  The inner race on the PTO should fit any machine with a 1" crank.  I wish you were closer.  I have a neighbor with a GT 1142.  It would be nice to have spare parts.  Bill

Swapped over the rear fuel tank, seat and fender from the donor 312. I didn’t get any pics. I also stripped the Briggs down To a long block. The valves are burnt and it didn’t get treated well. The neighbor musta rebuilt everything else though and it sat  Looks like if it did run the timing was off.

The Kohler Command I had came off a Cub Cadet.  That entire PTO setup with the mounting plate for the engine gives you lots of engine options.  You will have to make a new steel plate to mount to the engine for the thrust bearing.  I would save all the pieces, they could be used for a Predator engine swap.  Bill

It’s alive. Made a crude wire harness to test the kill relay and make sure it charges. All good. Gotta raise the hood to clear the muffler and pickup a battery on the way home tmw. Then we ride! Lol.
I’ll make a new harness for it, the wire nuts are just there for mockup.

Got it so it moves itself around. I can let it wait for now. I’ve got too much to do now that hours are waning and leaves are starting to drop. It’ll get its turn in the garage.
Gotta finish the 520h first. I have all my parts waiting. image.jpg.9ba2933216835ac275bcd0b67470dba9.jpgimage.jpg.9371264cdff488f8baaa0a5b84105ab9.jpg

      Hello!

I am looking for any and all snowthrowers that will work on my GT2500. I am trying to find one off FB marketplace but no one ever really posts the model number. Usually just the length. So I look for 42'' throwers but I don't know what will fit. A local seller has this for sale:

He says its 42 but unaware the model, the Wheelhorse logo looks to be from the late 60's/early 70's? It looks like the below thrower:

My question is if that thrower year/model will fit the GT2500. It looks pretty dang simple but I'm not sure. Someone mentioned something about the right size "Quick-hitch" in another post.

A GT2500 followed us home today.  The metal has some rust, but it is straight.  It runs nice and strong to.  Came with what appears to be a late 60's snow plow and wheel weights.
