Some bump stops for the hood. Yup, they are tire valve stems. A bit of trimming and they seem to work great

I think you may be correct. I have been on that slippery slope a time or two.

A little more progress tonight. A rubber bungie, some machine bolts, a couple finish washers and a couple pieces of flared brake line and VOILA! Hood latches.

Messing around with fender shapes. Thoughts??? Suggestions???? The input I get from you guys helps tremendously.

While small fenders look cool they do have one disadvantage. I use a 400 Suburban for a show cruiser & the backs of my legs and my back get covered in mud if there is muddy conditions at the show. But I sure do like the looks of small clam shell fenders.

I like the over arch quite a lot. I agree with @Achto that a longer backside might be a happy future move.

So maybe wrap around to the back more? Or just a bit wider? Both?

Ifthis were my project, I would extend the back edge of the fenders further around the tire, maybe 3 more inches.

Maybe a bit of both. If the weather is bad, I now climb on Radpferd. His fenders keep the crud down to a minimum.

I think I'd be looking along the lines of Radpferd's fenders. Mudguards as we call them for a good reason. .

I've seen guys use a set of trailer fenders. They can always bet trimmed to get the look that you want. Not sure if these are the right size for you, but just an example

It just happens that I have 2 in my shopping cart from them i put there last night. Unfortunately if i buy 2 they really should go on my utility trailer instead.

Kevin's got a point there and the diameter would be fairly close to what you want on the curve as well.

I thought about the ole BBQ trick like I did with the Speedex but the neighbors hid there grills from me lol
