Thanks. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Having a hard time figuring out the steering wheel end of the hood. Not sure what I'm going to do. It's kinda slowing the pace a bit

It just taped a line at the bottom to thin the hood out a bit. The 2 slanted pieces of tape are possible cuts. The one furthest back is a full cut then invert the piece. The next one is a cut up to the flat area on top then bend it down to the same angle as the uprite thats under the hood, then blend in the side curves

In princip yes,

i would try to shift the hood few cm to the right,

that the right slash aligns with the Tower and the front aligns with the Frame end.

rounded the left lower side and built an addon Fueltank, 

 

Hood hinges below the hood from inner , more hidden, that would be my vote.

@Tractorhead I'm definitely thinking of sliding the hood a bit so the grille has a rake to it. As fast as cutting the hood to be flush with the tower, there is a 1" tab on the tower facing the seat that strengthens the top of it. I may put the fuel tank so the cap is thru the hood. If I go with hinges they will definitely be hidden. Thanks for the ideas. Keep 'em coming. It helps as I sit and stare at it designing.

How about a bit bigger longrange Fueltank, flat end at filler and bigger end (rounded box shape) to tower direction.

- with the moved hood i think a Motocycle Battery will fit in front of the Engine incl. Solenoid and regulator,

so just a thinner wireharnest have to be brought to the Dash.

thiner harnest = easier to hide....

The tank I have at the moment is from a gravely. It's a about 4x5x17". Not much room in front of the engine. The mock up engine doesnt have a head or rocker cover on it at the moment. I'm all for minimal wiring. I'm thinking the battery would have to be behind the seat. Hidden some how

you could make up a little box that would look more in character than the battery itself

I don't know what you've got for a ground clearance or ground terrain but a small battery could be mounted UNDER the frame in its own box as well

i have my complete electric  installation compressed under the hood, include the Battery.

that fit‘s under a 656 hood completely.

 

 

 

there is also not much room, but it is enough for all the things i need.

That's a tight fit. Is that a motorcycle battery? My engine bay may be a bit shorter and narrower, I'm not sure. I'm gonna try and get this hood figured out. That way I know exactly how much room I have to work with.

Yap, that‘s a motocycle Battery with 225 CCA, what is enough Power to fire up the Engine easily.

I can measure maybe tomorrow and give you my Values.

the battery i use is a

That fit‘s snug under the Hood.

The Battery mount is selfmade out of Plastic i have aside,

because i like to built it non conductive.

I payed 33€ for it.

 

the height of the battery was 110mm, that give me a clearance of 40mm over all in height to metall parts.

if i estimate your build right, that could be comparable.

btw i used the same battery on my 212 Horse with an upgraded Loncin 16 HP Engine without any troubles since a year. It fires right up even in Winter use.

@Tractorhead thanks for the data. I will be taking that into consideration. I just might have enough room for that. I will have to check the price comparison on it to a lawn and garden battery (which I have several of). But if it fits it fits
