Eaton 1100 complete fluid change

Recommended Posts

Going to change the transmission fluid on the 418 and as it's a hydro, I was wondering if any of you have a way to drain the whole system completely?  I can raise the front end but I'm rather leery of using the engine to pump it out and although I might be able to turn one of the rear wheels by hand with motion lever in forward or reverse, perhaps the amount in the lines, lift cylinder and manifold isn't enough to worry about.

Any advice is always appreciated.

Probably not necessary. There is always a pint to a quart left in those hydro pumps / lift units. May do more harm than good if run dry.

If there is nothing wrong and it is just routine maintenance, warm it up, drain, change the filter, refill, test run at idle, and recheck with a top off.

:text-yeahthat:

If the fluid is really dirty or has water in it just run it an hour or two and change it and the filter again.
