71_Bronco 1,072 #1 Posted September 9, 2020 Have a 44" (I think) grader blade that I bought for my Bronco 14. It is an aftermarket unit that I thought I bought from someone on here a few years back. It is one that mounts to the rear axle brackets, not the mid-mount tach-o-matic mount. I did mount it on the Bronco 14 before I disassembled it, and I remember it worked fine, and was able to angle the blade without hitting the front tires (if my memory serves me right). If I were to mount that same grader blade on a short-frame tractor, like my Commando 8, would I have any issues? I would think that it would hit my front tires when tilted, but if kept straight, would it work? Or was there a different grader blade specifically for the short-frames? ebinmaine 67,309 #2 Posted September 9, 2020 Seems to me being a custom build you really would just have to try it and see. Short frame to a long frame should be about two and three-quarter inch difference.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #3 Posted September 9, 2020 The first MB-405 in 1965 became the 7-1711 in 1968 and listed for both the short and long frame tractors. This one mounts to the front and is pulled. Garry

You could drill a couple new holes at an acceptable angle that will work for the short frame. Here is a bit more information on the 40"
71_Bronco 1,072 #5 Posted September 9, 2020 I'll take a couple pics in the coming days, its at my parents house. From what I recall, its a copy of the Wheel Horse ones. I don't remember why the guy was making repro ones.
