D_Mac 8,593 #1 Posted September 8, 2020 Well I picked this up the other day. Just thought it was really cool and I had to have it, plus PO only wanted 50 bucks for it ! After I got it home I discovered it was made over seas in England. How it got here I will never know. I rubbed it down with boiled linseed oil and put a coat of poly on it. The wood soaked it right up. The floor wasnt very sturdy. 1/4 at best for the flooring and there was no tailgate. I was going to just put a piece of 3/4 plywood on the bottom. Went to the Big Box Store to discover they want 50 bucks for a sheet of plywood these days. Time to rethink my idea. Up in the rafters in my garage there was some wood that has been there since I bought the house. I pulled it all down and starting thinking this just might work. I cut out all the bad spots and had JUST enough. All tongue and groove just like the sides of the trailer and it matched perfect. Came out pretty good. used some metal to hold the tailgate in place and mounted some handles on it. Rubbed it all down with the linseed oil again it is shines like a new penny. Came out way better then if I used plywood. I mounted the handles on the inside of the tailgate for two reasons. Feels more natural lifting it up and out from there, second I stand it up on end to store it in the shed. 7

I like trailers have a couple motorcycle trailers - including one with tilt rails (Holsclaw) and a custom built low profile aluminum trailer with torsion axle that can fit against a side or back wall in a garage and occupy little space have an Triton aluminum tilt snowmobile trailer have a few dump carts that have been sitting outside unfortunately for a long time and are ready to expire ... rubbermaid cart ... (last pic below) ... also have an old Wheel Horse dump cart (that has been sitting outside under the snowmobile trailer) somewhere in the garage is a vintage aluminum Besco folding trailer that folds up into the size of a large suitcase ... similar to trailer in pictures below Edited September 9, 2020 by tom2p 1
