The Tuul Crib 7,336 #1 Posted September 8, 2020 Found this on facebook for 50 bucks. 10 minutes away. Says that one cylinder doesnt have compression. Looks like its all there.
ebinmaine 67,274 #2 Posted September 8, 2020 I'd go get it. Just to mess with it. Certainly worth the $50. Could be something super simple. Maybe not. But you wouldn't know unless you try it.
953 nut 55,075 #3 Posted September 8, 2020 I see a Magneto Ignition that appears to be from the '50s or earlier. Find out what make and model it is so you can check on parts availability before you buy it. Otherwise $ 10 isn't a bad price for a boat anchor if you need a boat anchor. Tuneup 1,433 #4 Posted September 8, 2020 I'd hand over $50 for a Wisconsin any day - if only to have it run on a bench.
Stepney 2,325 #5 Posted September 8, 2020 Well.. starters arent cheap, a Zenith carb like that in rebuildable shape is 50+ all day long, a good magneto core atleast 75.. Yeah I'd grab it, but be warned it is HEAVY.
richmondred01 2,237 #6 Posted September 8, 2020 Wisconsin engines were great. Parts still available. Very straight forward rebuild. If you don’t rebuild it, the parts are worth it and by selling the parts you will be helping out someone and putting a little bit in your pocket.
WHNJ701 4,165 #7 Posted September 8, 2020 Wisconsin stuff is in pretty high demand, with alot of the oddball off tractors that came with them. I am not familiar at all with them but know of a few people and they search high and low for parts and some NLA stuff is worth big bucks now
71_Bronco 1,072 #8 Posted September 8, 2020 I picked up this one for $100, with the starter / generator set-up. It's an S7D, 7.2 HP @ 3,600 RPM. Previous owner said it ran, but needs a little tuning (probably old gas in the carb). I'd love to pop this into my Lawn Ranger, but I think it is going to be a little too big to fit under the hood. 71_Bronco 1,072 #9 Posted September 11, 2020 @The Tuul Crib, you buy this yet?
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #10 Posted September 11, 2020 No I haven't went to look at it yet but I did look up some parts to repair and rebuild and I think I'm gonna stick to my Kohlers! i'm running out of room to put these things right now.
