Lagersolut 691 #1 Posted September 7, 2020 Picked up this 416 last year spent last fall going over the entire tractor fixing the broke stuff dusting off the 32 years corrosion on the electrical . Absolutely love this K341 it is a beast . Still has the original seat I'm thinking of calling around finding a place that would reupholster the seat . Looking for opinions yes or no on a re do on a original wheel horse seat - Northern tool discontinued the seat that was a close match to these . Thoughts opinions
lynnmor 7,388 #2 Posted September 7, 2020 I doubt that you will find anyone that can redo the seat, they were molded and the covering was formed using heat. I contacted some upholstery shops that do motorcycle and tractor seats and they wouldn't attempt it. If you find someone, please let us all know. Innerst is where I bought my first Wheel Horse in 1991.

Thanks for the info - I still go to innerst for parts - the girl behind the counter is a real ace if you're having issues with numbers on these tractors. I bought another style seat from Northern tool for a diff tractor - bolted up fine but hated the way it sits - too high and too hard .

squonk 41,649 #7 Posted September 7, 2020 They used heat to mold it and once they got cold in the winter a couple of times they would split and shrink. go with an aftermarket seat, I have this seat on my C-160 and it's the most comfortable seat in my fleet. https://www.surpluscenter.com/Seats/Seats/355-Universal-Fold-Down-Black-Seat-w-Armrests-Black-Talon-355000BK-1-3206.axd

D_Mac 8,869 #9 Posted September 8, 2020 (edited) I had an 1988 416-8 that I refreashed this year. Original seat was torn at the corners. Replaced it with this sliding seat. Edited September 8, 2020 by D_Mac
WHNJ701 4,165 #10 Posted September 8, 2020 Not sure if this helps if the seat cover comes off? if does you glue in patch panels from behind and then use black vinyl filler, I figured out how to do this repair wasn't to bad

Beautiful job on the re do -noticed yours has a magnum - wondering if I dated mine wrong - thought mine was a 1988 but I’m sporting a K341 ... were they just starting to introduce the mags ?
wallfish 17,114 #12 Posted September 9, 2020 The K engines ended in 86 for the 416. 87 started with the magnums

Lagersolut 691 #14 Posted September 9, 2020 Think I got this figured out - paged through my pictures today found a better one I took right after I bought it - my eyes aren't what they use to be I left someone else decipher this last year who thought it was a 803 on the tag putting it at 1988 - today I dated the Kohler numbers engine dates to 1985 - looks like I have a 1985 416-
