Ok mowingnight before last brakes went out when drive belt slipped off. Well further investigation i found collar on brake disc is cracked.

I called sears and it was discontinued years ago, i have other brake discs, but they are splined and this one has a tapered moon key, so what is best option; pull the dana rear end and tare it apart and see if the shaft of a peerless would fit it,  drive with no brakes, or dig till i find a old mower thats same. Whats y'all's thoughts ?

Can the collar be welded. Pictures would help see what you have.

I bet any bone yard would have the one.. I can picture it, worked on dozens of those in the younger race mower days.

You have a Sears to call?!?  Mine closed last November.  Some pictures and model numbers would help us help you much quicker.  There has to be a hundred of those transaxles in any junkyard.

If you have a flat yard I would just mow with no breaks. Worse comes to worst just jam it in reverse. Hey that rhymes.
