squonk 41,023 #3 Posted August 30, 2020 (edited) I've seen those. Not factory. I think those you just grab it and pull out to drain and push in to close Edited August 30, 2020 by squonk

peter lena 8,580 #5 Posted August 30, 2020 TIMH, i am not familiar with that type of drain plug ,and would be leary of its function , i am familiar with failsafe type of oil valve , commonly on boats and difficult service areas .https://www.ezoilchangevalve.com/store/p37/EZ-5_[Thread_size_%3A_25mm-1.5].html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5OHf-rfD6wIVvYpaBR3PsQVaEAQYASABEgLWbfD_BwE . just showing you this as a possible go to if you decide to swap. pete
shallowwatersailor 3,213 #6 Posted August 30, 2020 This is a very reliable drain plug! The Kohler Command on the 5xi tractors use this type of tool-less drain plug. On my 518xi and 520xi I never had a problem with leakage, and at the point I sold them they were 19 and 17 years old. As you can see in the photo, they do draw dirt but you could attach a small hose to divert the used oil when an attachment is in the way. 1
