Friend of mine gave me A box of these yesterday said they were great for oil spills while changing oil or spilled oil. They are supposed to be really absorbent.

I've seen those quite a few times. We carry them in the spill kits in the truck side drive. Also, there was many many of them here at the house when we had the oil spill. The fire department, the DEP, and the remediation company all used different variations of them.

Another interesting note about them is they do NOT absorb water.

I found that out on the way home in the pouring rain with all of that metal. I used them to protect the paint on my truck.

We use them in water & wastewater facilities for oil and grease cleanup.  They can be used for normal cleaning and dried for reuse.  Very handy, good score.

I used to use them in the bilge of my boat. They worked great, I had a slight oil leak and like everyone said they don’t absorb water. We called them bilge diapers!
