71_Bronco 1,072 #1 Posted August 28, 2020 Got this blade with my '62 Lawn Ranger. I know it's not the correct one for this tractor. Attached is a picture showing how it was attached to the uni-drive transmission. Basically, there is a pair of angle iron's attached to the transmission, and there was a bolt through each side with a lock-nut. This way the blade could pivot and not bind. The handle works and everything is free on the plow. Not sure if the solid "links" are correct, or if I should have a set of the trip springs. I also noticed that the back of the blade has some tubes attached to it. Should I have a pair of those cast iron "mushroom" things that allow adjustment of the blade height? 71_Bronco 1,072 #3 Posted August 28, 2020 @gwest_ca, thanks so much! That's it. Looks like the solid plow "straps" are correct (instead of trip springs), and it looks like I was right about the "mushroom" things (part number 2399). So it's kinda correct to my Lawn Ranger, in that it's the correct year, but not sure it was intended for the 32R. The previous owner said he did plow with that set-up, and that it did a phenomenal job.
ebinmaine 67,309 #4 Posted August 28, 2020 If you're plowing on a fairly smooth surface don't get too concerned about not having trip springs. In my yard there's a awful lot of stones and rough areas until the plow itself smooths that out. I wanted my plow to be fairly stiff but not unforgivable. I added a second set of springs. Works like a charm.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #5 Posted August 28, 2020 I don't understand items 7 and 8 that ends up being left and right if you read the service bulletin. Each looks like a tie rod with hooks on each end to mount the spring. Strange. Garry

Only way the spring would work is if the rod (part 7) telescoped on itself, allowing it to extend, and the spring to pull it back. But if it was 2 pieces, you'd think it would say "assembly" or have multiple part numbers.
