Oh Wait the new Gen...502. Most winningest car in NASCAR HISTORY, THE SS MONTE CARLO. Before the fake Nascar, with all of the fake stops, implied cautions, oh wait....chicken bone on the track...We have to make this an even playing field You missed the rare Chevy 302. I knew a guy had numbers matching one in a Camaro. $50k car unrestored. Thing about Nascar is NOBODY got the Power to the ground without a FORD 9 out back. stevasaurus 22,711 #31 Posted August 26, 2020 What a great thread. Can you imagine if we could do a political thread on this site??? My 1st car had a Cevy 235 cu/in straight 6 in it. Loved that car and it was easy to work on. I bought new, a 1986 Ford F-150 with that 300 - 6 in it. Loved that truck and it was also easy to work on. Favorite 8 is that 389 in the old Pontiac wide tracks. Give me a 1967 Pontiac LaMans powder blue with white interior...convertible and I'm gone...crusin'.

Had a '69 Z/28 with the 302 it was a wicked high RPM monster, when drag racing with the 4 speed, shift at 7000 rpm all day long, sometimes 7200 or 7300. There wasn't much that could stay with it the first 1/8 of a mile, small blocks, big blocks hemis, after that you were just holding it on the floor and and looking in the mirror, sometimes you win sometimes you loss.

You had to keep an eye out to see which parts fell off and if you needed to replace them..

I had a '69 SS that I made into a Z-28 clone with a 350 in it. I sold in 1990 to buy my first house! It had some rare options too!

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #37 Posted August 27, 2020 I’ve had them all...just seemed to have always had better luck with the Fords. My 98 Chevy has been giving me fits for the last couple months, but I think after two weeks and $1300 later in the shop I think we got it figured out. It made a trip to Oklahoma City and back today without any troubles. I need to get the alternator fixed on my F250 to have my old work truck back, this new Suburban is too nice and clean to be driving back and forth to work every day. I did break down and go ahead with 4 new tires on it yesterday, the ones that were on it didn’t have many miles on them, but they were 10 yrs old. Also not sure why Dad put 235/75R16s on it...came out factory with 245s on it. I went ahead and went up a size to a 265, made the old truck look so much better
