Do you have a small Workshop where you can work in, maybe shared with your Dad, or do you be an outside worker? Curious what you planing and what your idea‘s. ebinmaine 67,021 #6 Posted August 23, 2020 You've found the absolute best place to get information, parts, supplies etc for your horse!! The Kohler 8 is a fantastic engine! One of the favorites of many of us for sure. Please do post pics. We all love our pics. There's a ton of knowledge on the site and in the minds of the members so take a look around and start asking questions. Check out the last few pages of "What Have You Done To Your Wheelhorse Today?" And look at the machine currently being restored by @AMC RULES.. 2

Pullstart 62,603 #10 Posted August 23, 2020 Welcome @BIG RED WHEEL HORSE 854! It’s awesome that you’re so young and into old iron! I too love a round hood, though I have no 854... Here’s a little inspiration for you, from our round hood Wheel Horses and fun times with my kids as well!

AMC RULES 37,117 #18 Posted August 24, 2020 If mine came to me looking like yours... I doubt I would've changed much besides cleaning it up.

I have thought about leaving it like that because I love the patina look with the nice clean painted wheels. 2
WHNJ701 4,165 #20 Posted August 24, 2020 Lots of potential there, lose the stack, change the wheel barrow tires, paint the seat, some decals and start scuffing and buffing, only get 1 chance with original paint like that!

Color match the seat to them wheels and you're all but done. The metal and paint work I need to finish up my 854 hood tomorrow will have me at 10 days of easily 10 hour work days to get this thing where you see it now.
WHX?? 48,594 #22 Posted August 24, 2020 Sounds like the fellas have given you some good advice. The 854 is a favored model around here. I have this one and was going to restore it but my buddy Mike @prondzy is going to take custody of it and leave it's character. He does wonders with preserving patinas much better than I. 3
