In other words, he has no idea why they did it. Don't know about y'all, but when I check transmission fluid, I always throw the dipstick in the dirt and don't wipe it off before I re-insert it, and even at times pick up a handful of dirt and pour it down the dipstick tube just for kicks. Actually can't give a good answer on this- I have a friend with his own shop that was the lead tech at a local Toyota dealership for years before striking out on his own. He does all my Tacoma servicing. I know the trans temp has to be below a certain level before it measures correctly, and for me that means my truck typically stays overnight for that reason.
