Gregor 4,846 #235 Posted May 12, 2021 @TractorheadI think you should take a poll, on what color this thing should be painted. The final decision is yours of course. I think yellow would look nice with that blue tractor.

If i turn that into Tequila (did you know how to turn it) i couldn‘t finish the Backhoe. - so let‘s do the important things first.. 😎 and educate me, how to make my own Tequila 😁👍
Tractorhead 9,064 #239 Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) Few mini steps forward. Firstly i welded the Swing plates together. Check the swing Angle neutral 30 deg to right side... - that‘s ok i believe. Inbetween the Swingplates cooling down ( dang they where hot, move without gloves is a real goofy idea..) i tried to play a little blacksmith with the induction heater. Therefore i use a 20x5 mm Flat steel and heat it up with the inductor and after 30 sec it begins to glow dark and after 72 sec the steel was bright red glow and can be bend it with just hands and less force. That‘s really nice, i love it. than i try to ben both at the same spot to get a feeling how exact i can work with the inductor. It works exact and quicker than i believed, same accuracy like a flame. - pretty Cool - At least i fabricated few Distance bolts. Tractorhead 9,064 #243 Posted May 14, 2021 Tadaaaaaa.... the new Toy arrived the Shed. it was a big heavy Box that arrives on Palette. - The unboxing... Ok, that seems to be more a Tool instead a Toy. it is completely built 90cm in height over all. The Weight is 40Kilos - so not a to cheap crap. to compare The Cheapo ... and the „Newbie“ The Vice is used to compare. The Pro‘s - Vario Drive from 290 up to 2900 RPM simply with a Lever RPM Gauge LED Light Laser to align MK2 Quickmount Heavy Cast Iron Stand Absolute 0 play in the Drill - round better than 0,02 mm accuracy silent and wobblefree spinning The Contra the LEDLight and the Laser only Pulses and the RPM gauge keeps dark. i wrote the manufacturer for a spare Mainboard - powersupply is shot. but it works like a charme. for the Price i be satisfied, even with the cons. this are nice to have gadgets but i don‘t need them really. 1
ebinmaine 67,498 #244 Posted May 15, 2021 EXCELLENT shop arsenal addition Steve. But... 12 hours ago, Tractorhead said: seems to be more a Tool instead a Toy To the right person all tools are toys.
Tractorhead 9,064 #245 Posted May 15, 2021 You be Right Buddy Bear. so i played today a little With my new Toy‘s... firstly i made 2 Mounts for the Cylindres. Drilled in 3 steps 6mm than 12mm than 17mm at least 20mm. Works like a charme, i love my new Toy. after that i make a Cylindre mount out of a 32mm pipe with 6mm thickness so the Bolt thickness will be 20mm that should be enough. Than i welded it onto bottom of the Cylindres. I plan the Hydraulic connections sideway’s of the Beam than i can move the Cylindre as close as possible between the Beam and mount without the danger to touch the hydraulic lines in any way. Than i grinded down the first welded Cylindre mount and rewelded one of the new Mounts i made for one of the new Cylindre. ( they arrived Today) I also get today the Gearbox for the rear Hydraulicpump, but i ordered for a group 2 pump. huh, i have ordered wrong, because i have a group 1 pump - but hey - no problem this can be solved with an Adapter plate. 2
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #247 Posted May 15, 2021 @Tractorhead You are moving along on the project . It will be finished soon , then you will have to find something else to build. Great work.
Tractorhead 9,064 #248 Posted May 15, 2021 Or i start to play for a longer time with it Jim.... 😂 finished the today‘s step. firstly we have to mow completely arround the house and front + backyard. The grass raises up to 15-18 cm, so the Horse had a hard work today.. after the Mowing Session the Horse and i we took a ride firstly to dump the Grass down to the Forrest and after we be back we had another ride for the dump of the whole Spring- Cut, Kati does in between. Now the Garden looks nice again, but the extreme high Grass by full speed mowing wears the belt relatively heavy. So the 7-9 Horses start to eat belts but didn’t show much impact on RPM at Full throttle @ 3990 RPM. it cuts nice and the side exchange works great. Than lunch and back in the Shed. finalize the Daywork. I welded the 2. Pipe into the pistonrod. First Cylindre is completely ready for mount, so let‘s put it in. i planed to install a arrester mount, to fix the Backhoe when not in use even without hydraulic. arrested by a bolt i.eg. for travelling or for storage released for work. than i begin to plan a bit ahead for the Bucket mount. Here the rest parts of the Cable window will be reused. A double link like on excavators must be done for that. The Rearswingmount is ready for being mounted next steps are build the swing baseplate, weld them onto Angleirons, drilling holes in them to screw it onto the Base platform, Drill the baseplatform up to 22mm left and right to be able to attach it onto the 3 Point on the Tracta. build 2 mounts for the Ellbow cylindre and weld them to the Arm lot‘s of thing to do. 2
