Except the choke bowden, to use it there is a lot more rework needed,

so i decide to use just the throttle lever and let the choke lever unused for now.

Than i remount the Beltcover, to see if it fit‘s.

looking not too bad, few smaller issues must be solved but it works so far.

Time for a Testride if all works as it should.

a gently scratching can be heared, because of the idlerpulley is scratched a little on the Beltcover.

while grinding down, i try to remove scratching parts.

Beltcover gap now is ok about gap but must be rewelded.

one seam reduces the gap too much, so i have to grind it down.

I decide to keep it now as it is for the next Workrides.

After that i will next time finalize the Beltcover and repaint it.

The Engine itself performs nice and grunt even under load in a cool Deep pipe Sound.

and at least it appears to be a little faster than before.

So far - Engine Swap is successfully done except few cosmetic issues.

Another try of the Paintjob.

while the last idea - working with Sprayfiller - was a Disaster, i grinded the whole Sheetmetal down to bare Metal.

My idea was to Solder tinning the Edges from the Welding to give them a smoother surface,

but i thinkering again about it and feared, that my Original Sign can melt maybe.

Yes, i have a new one from Terry, but i like to keep it‘s original as long as possible.

So i decided to grind it just down, leave the pittings what it have in it and primer than Paint it.

The result is ok, not perfect in detail, but better than i feared and Rustprotection is definitely given.

She is a old Lady, that make me some pittings and dull’s acceptable.

No photofinish, but acceptable for me.

- aaaaand the Original Sticker can still stay on her.

How did you make the tractor larger?  You went from a 656 to a 959. :ychain: Old German Trick!  It won't work on any I have, makes them smaller.

First things first - after Work i try to go on the Road and hear a loud ploink from somewhere in the Front.

when i want to hit the road, i slipped somewhere arround and get my car luckily stopped at the right roadside.

a quick view doesn‘t show anything strong, a try to go back on the road clears - not Possible.

The car seems to steer somewhere but not in the direction i want to drive.

i put steeringwheel full to right and see the Disaster-

right tyre points full right, left tyre points straight.

ok, something in the steering is wron, that‘s now clear.

After i move the left tyre by Hand i be shocked.

The self tapping bolt from the tie rod end left side is completely missing, the tie rod is completely released into somewhere.....

- W T F.

glad this happens in slow speed while drive on the road and not in a funny ridden curve with 100 or even more 😎

 - so no fine threaded Bolts or nuts for a quick fix available but - yap few stronger zip ties.

They be handy ffor roadside fixes and allway's somewhere arround in my Car‘s

So i get 2 heavy Ziptie‘s wind one over the thread after reinserted the tie rod into it‘s place and screwed it and good as possible on,

than pulled with maximum force until short before it rips and drive Carefully back home.

This roadside fix lasts until i‘m at home, but i must quick fix it, because the Shed is overfilled and the Shed door must be open.

And yes, even there heavy Snowfall.. - and they tell some more snow.

Ok, park Car nose in, jack it up remove the tires and go to the Car section and pick a new Tie rod end.

checking the thread, this is absolute like new. Don‘t know what was happen to crack this nut.

The TRE‘s was in the early day‘s allway's secured by a additional splint,

but the newer tie rod ends didn‘t have a hole for that purpose.

They just be secured by an self taping nut. - what a idiotic philisophie, that must be changed back.

so i simply grab me a 3,2mm drill and drilled a hole in the thread and put a Safety splint in.

After that was done it stops snow and begin to rain hardly and a little breeze comes up.

i do a quick testride with the Car and all feels good and save back again,

The horse run‘s in higher idle while i fixing my tie rod ends to warm up completely,

than i shut off the Engine.

After that i grab me a Coffee and than back to my Horse.

Engine Hot start after longer testrun followed by a 10 min break.

First impressions, When the Engine is not complete cold, a restart with the pullstart is the quickest way to fireup again.

E-start works perfect if it is cold with choke, but not so good on hot or warm Engine or i may have to find out it‘s best start conditions.

But however, with pullstart all works as it should.

i have implemented 2 Charging / Light Coils one was allready installed, the second i refitted.

because the weak Power of this coils of max. 1,5A each i splited them in the charging and a separate light systems.

Before allway’s when i powered the Led‘s i get a Voltagedrop on the Single charging system.

now i have allway‘s a batterycharge and little weaker lights i can live with.

so i use now the original coil as charging Coil with the Diode charger as it was built in in the original Wireharness

and the second implemented Coil over the Regulator now only for the Lights.

The cigarette lighter is hooked on the Battery, because the Coils be to weak in current.

I thinkering about winding myself maybe a high current Coil for the complete Charging system,

but we will se how this Setup turns out on long term use.

All this times i do also a Testrun on the mule drive, with the old mowerdeck belt on

the pulleys runs 10mm disaligned, to see how much i can do that until the Belt jumps off or over.

so far i be ok with the results,

just needs bit more stable Weater for a Trailride, to ride in mud between 30 and 35deg F

and a mixture of rain and wet snow ain’t be funny.

Soi wait at least until road i dried because i don‘t like all that salt on my Horse.

Because of unstable and cold weather, i just fo tests today while cleanup the Shed floor.

Firstly i moved one of the big Tableposts half meter aside,

Jacked the table few mm up remove the Post and set it back down on it‘s final place,

to get a greater clearance of at least 1meter for Snow blower and Tiller behind under the Table.

Than i tried a today‘s arrived Tacho i ordered on the Bay.

That thing is pretty cool and have an exchangeable Battery CR2023 for its own power.

To pickup the Ignition just a simple clamp will be hooked on Sparkplug connector or somewhere on the cable.

It shows in idle 1450 -1480 RPM and on max. Throttle 3760 RPM.

The sound and the showed rpm correspondends. The refresh rate is 0,5 sec.

Cool gadget, thinking to implement it permanently, but it is a LCD type, what doesn‘t fit‘s the age of my Horse.

While cool down the Engine i decide to make few Detailed pictures of how the Engine fits.

the gap between Airfilter and the hood.

Seems i made no mistakes on planing ahead.

even the Exhaust have perfect gap, not too close, not to far away.

one issue i found today, i need a shorter drive Belt maybe 1“- 1,5“

the Spannerpulley sometimes still scraps a bit on the Beltcover, but all other works as it should.

if i gently press the Clutch pedal 4-5 mm the Pulley stops scratching permanently.

1" would likely be enough.

Seems from my experience it takes very little variance to make the proper changes.

Nice work on the engine change Steve.

I understand the logic of the tach. It's neat to see the rpm.

I wouldn't want the new style on an old tractor.

There are 2" round tachs that have been modified.

I'd like to have one as well but I don't know of one that's "plug and play" for a 60 year young single cylinder engine.

Few day‘s ago a idiot tried to crack Kati‘s beloved Car „ the Sleeper“

Because of this happens i was today shortly with the sleeper at a friend who is a bodywork plumber.

He kept it and will fix it - that‘s definitely not a Work i can do to much damages.

The good thing was - the idiot who tried to crack the car open, fails.

The bad thing was - he make a lot of damage in the A- pillar and damaged it‘s structure

i wish to catch this idiot in a dark night ....  😎

only we two....

However my heart goes wide open after i see such a pretty nice Car there.

Was today quick at my Friend Hannes in his Workshop,

he always did a great Job and is definitely for me an Artist in Bodywork and also his Paintjobs are upper quality.

I knew lot of his restaurated Vehicles, like the orange 2002 BMW or some other Brands.

The Plastics are removed on the Sleeper and we do together a quick Checkup for upcoming or maybe hidden Troubles.

This is now an 11 years old Car, and it is not Bad in shape at all.

Flex pipe becomes rusty and must maybe changed the next 2 Years but the Rest is still solid and ok.

Few smaller beginning Rustspots on the surface where plastic meets Metal but most can be fixed without any Welding.

So the Fixup has allready begun and shall be finished until Friday he meants.

After we checked the Car today together, i ask him for also fix this all up at once.

He agreed,

he is my Bodywork guru on such things, i keep my Fingers better away - Live and let live !

After this short Visit i was Corona conform at my Horse....

Radio tells continuesley  - Corona comes - incedence Values increases again quick...

Yap, think they be right...

Corona is dang close to the Horse, good to have another FFP2 Masks...😂

and while we run into next Lockdown i organized me a Box „Shed Beer“

ok, not the whole Box at once,

but „one Beer a Day keeps the Doctor away“ i believe i have heared several Moons ago.

I DO however greatly appreciate a nice ice cold 🍻 beer 🍺 on a hot day.

After some rework, the Horse did make yesterday it‘s first Mowjob.😎

B7E56FE6-8D63-4BAB-8EDD-C0BE9E49FA9C.jpeg.df9d041d8a6cb2613b416d8ebd2f593a.jpeg

it run‘s like a charme, the predator has plenty of power overhalf the 1800RPM.

below it seems it rapidly looses some power, but it works for me.

i only disagree with the church pipe sounding Exhaust, so i calculated a lot arround and try the equations to bring into a solution.

I made a Silencer as precalculated and give it a Try.

to be honest i made 4 different, and chooses the best for my preferred RPM‘s or better Frequency range.

from idle to full throttle i have a spread of 3000 Hz, that is the goal to silence.

At the beginning i started with a 97dB on the driver Seat, a Value, the Motor manufacturer have fixed.

i tried it more silence but with the same or even better Power.

the Testride while mowing yesterday was a completely Success.

at Full throttle i only reached 86 dB on driverseat, more than 10dB less than Factory and a more mellow Sound.

F1BC958F-DF8B-441C-B9E2-270E76B62947.jpeg.d4842792a9ac1295f215dad257917795.jpeg

Here is a view to the silencer in the Exhaust.

while looking for some material in the Shed, i found an older Piece from a past Project and get some stupid ideas...

97EB80B7-5141-42C3-A4D0-62ACBD236335.jpeg.851b2561977ae7ede3e1c4cbf8cd05d5.jpeg

It‘s a Smart Turbocharger from a 3 cyl. engine a little reworked what i put on my Quadbikes Engine some moons ago.

With racing fuel 100 octane and some mods there where several funny rides,

not the safest, but who cares.. 😂

Found also the old electric Oilpump and few other things are laying arround.

Ughhhhh -  some stupid ideas hit my mind...

So i ordered a set of stronger Valvesprings - just in case....

it‘s allway‘s better to have, than to need - ya know

😎
