8ntruck 7,021 #76 Posted October 11, 2020 I like that new belt/disc sander. I've been considering one.
Tractorhead 9,064 #77 Posted October 11, 2020 @8ntruck It‘s beeing felt a better quality than it appears on Picts and for a price that was definitely a steal. i compared here the last months at our local Hardwarestores nearly compatible machines from their Home Brands, Güde or Scheppach, where the price is in no relaition to what you get. Each time i see a Hardwarestore i take a short stop to look for a good Deal. I only see much more plastics on and a felt cheaper built for at least from 180$ and up...( Imho less felt quality), that was not my Way to go i like a fair Deal ( What you pay is what you get) no more no less. Dunno if you have already an 230V available, but here some Technical Data Netzanschluss230 Volt / 50 Hz Nennleistung350 Watt Geschwindigkeit282 m/min (Band) 1450 U/min (Teller) Abmessungen Schleifband915 x 100 mm Durchmesser Schleifteller150 mm Schwenkbereich Arbeitstisch0° bis 45° schwenkbar (Teller) 0° bis 90° schwenkbar (Band) Abmessungen500 x 300 x 260 mm Gewichtca. 17 kg i like it, it does it‘s job silent, and all parts fit. For a 70$ incl shipping a good and fair Deal.

Pullstart 62,921 #82 Posted October 22, 2020 Stefan, I vote for the rear wheels painted to match the fronts... unless you want to keep them original. It looks and sounds great! 1
Pullstart 62,921 #83 Posted October 22, 2020 Also, just wanted to mention again how happy I am to see your workshop Nd all the space you’ve acquired! It seems when we spoke about making this all happen you would have been forced to sell your other Horse to make room, but also it would have had to sleep outside. It’s been an odd, but fruitful year!
Tractorhead 9,064 #84 Posted October 22, 2020 Yap Buddy, that it is. today a Scrap dealer ask if i had something to pickup. i thinkering shortly but after i robbed allready all parts from the old Astra i like to keep, i decide to give it away, to get more Space. after we pushed the old Astra with the Beast onto his Trailer i won a lot of Space, so i started immediately to built a Storage Rack. While build, i changed my decision forj a Metal Workplace and a separate Storage for my Steel. after that i inspect the Trailer for it‘s roadapproval i found few things they have to be fixed, what is successfully done now. lot of space more now - i love it... at least i started to cleanup the Shed and sort things
Tractorhead 9,064 #85 Posted October 27, 2020 Built a High storage for heavier Load. Actually it just holds few bumpers robbed from the Old Astra, but there is another Plan why i built this Rack.... I prepared that, to be able to split this Space in two separate sections, they can be both provided additionally by removable Tarp wall‘s. So that can be used if needed in Winter i.eg. as a preheated paint cabin or even as larger heated Workplace. The advance of the reduced heated Area in my opinion, it reduces the Need for bigger heater, to work comfortable in rough cold Winterday’s, so my 5 KW Diesel heater is definiteley strong enough to heat up my Workspace even on outside -20 degC to a comfortable Temperature range up to 20 deg.C with an fair consumpt of Diesel especialy because the most of the Shed aint‘t be insulated. and i didn‘t want heat up the whole Valley or the whole shed without any need.
Tractorhead 9,064 #86 Posted October 30, 2020 after the Work on the Plowframe yesterday, i get today some palettes so i have to get the Trailer and pickup 15 pallettes they be thrown normally into trash - cheap material for a real Stable in the „Horse Area“ Some material unprepared after today’s Work and after split and reworked them.... i have lot of free of charge Wood to turn the „Horse Stable Area“ and the Winterworkshop into a comfortable zone with an stylish look in plain wood rough sawn. Not finished, but for a Day not bad looks and feels now more to a horse stable instead of that plain Tarp before. than i hear the Postman - know some things was delivered.. firstly an Airhose Automatic roller with 10m hose and dozens Rattlecans of primer and RAL3003 for the Paint games..
Tractorhead 9,064 #87 Posted November 1, 2020 Upgrade for the Horse - it‘s own Plowblade with quickmount Frame some see it allready in the „What have you done for your Wheelhorse“ thread, i finalized the Snow Plow Project to be able to plow if Snow occur‘s. As allway‘s mentioned on the motto - better to be prepared, that to have a need for. The whole Measurements on the Frame is 160cm lenght and 29,5cm wide , it is made of Carbon Steel C- Profile 40x40x 3mm The both Rings for the Quickmount on the Rear are 3/4“ inner diameter and 1“outer diameter 40mm long. They be used normally as reductions from Cat1 mounts to Cat0. The Front pipe i welded in was a standart 1/2“ pipe i cutted to 40mm and welded it in. (grinded the galvanisation down ahead) the Angle stopper blade was a Steelplate 10cm x 13cm 5 mm thick, where i welded 2 M12 Nuts as stopper. A chain 1,5 Ton Ripforce is the Link to the Wheelhorse Lever. The both Rearaxle mounts are made from a Galvanized Angle iron 40x40 mm 5mm thick and 17 cm long the opposite are made of same Material but non galvanized and just 13cm long. The both Bolts 19mm are from 2 part‘s i saved from the scrap. the both front and rear rungs are made from a thin rect Pipe 25x35mm 2 mm thick and 1 meter long the middle (Lift load) pipe is a Rect. steel pipe 35x50mm 5mm thick from scrap material i had allready. The overall cost of the Frame was nailed at 36$ at all including Paint. The Plow blade was allready in stock but has few damages i can deal with. When i order my Press i will maybe fix it later. but the Press is delayed to Dec or Jan. The both springs for the Blade are from a local Spring Company special built for my given needs. Each spring can be loaded with 75 Kilos and be pulled at a max on 25 cm without any damage. cose therefore 35$ The bolt for the Springs was an 3/4“ galvanized heavy load mount for agriculture needs.7$ at a local farm machine Dealer. The rest of the Steel was out of the Scrap yard and free of charge. Here also the cummulated Build in one ( Picture heavy)
Tractorhead 9,064 #88 Posted November 7, 2020 Today a lot of things being done. start with Harvest my last Winterpotatoes - bit more than 8 Kilos, now finally the Field can be prepared for next Season. That was my initiation i decide to mount the big 12“ Horse Plow behind the Beast. To do that, i demount the Handle bars and thinkering how to mount it. Have to build a mounting construction, let‘s see how we can do... Seems it shall Work. The Ange can be set via the 3Point and at least can be corrected with the upper Bar. It is just clamped to the Plowframe. Hope it will work as it should. After finishing, i met 2 Guy‘s they Stop by with their Classic Cars and ask me, if they can take a Break here. yes you can. Would you park you Cars aside the Shed, so i can set an Accent into the middle... 1
Tractorhead 9,064 #89 Posted November 13, 2020 Today‘s test results, my Plow seems to work usable. The first row i plow with 2WD aetup, the swing was a result of the less weight in 2 WD, but i decide i kept it for the rest of the Field. on 2 WD i may need more weight on the front, on 4 WD it just pulls in the direction i pull it. On the outer left side i did a reduced cut depth, because with left tyres on the grass, to see if it can rip a grassroots, therefore i try another Setup. But i felt there is no problem at all cut this in fully dept at once. Somebody asked here on Red Square how well or bad a Sweeper works, i missed this Post, but here are 2 before and after Pics of the Areal‘s. Before and after using a sweeper on gravel roads is not a good idea, i collects more the gravel but not cleanly the leafs. That‘s the reason i keep the gravelroad untouched.
Tractorhead 9,064 #90 Posted November 14, 2020 Shared my Time this Weekend on all three tractors. firstly the Mow and Sweep on Friday noon. Today on Sat i started at 11:00, little Lazy after a hard Week. Pict was made short after beginning... 🤪😂😂 Firstly i Started with the Beast, remove and level the Flower bed on the house, because there is never rain and nothing grows until you water it excessive. Put that removed Soil in Frontyard, to level here also bit more for an easier entrance for the Horse to mow. The whole Yard looks actually like a Battlefield, but i had a lot of Fun with my „Loader day“, i level it with the Loader, but maybe i must do some corrections after Rain was happen and when it‘s finally completely level some grass will be seed. oooops, close to end of Work for today... 16:00 only 1 - 2 hour until it get‘s dark... So quick switched over to the Horse with the Tiller.. The mount i built, is pretty straight forward and as easy to mount/ unmount. It appears to be a original Part by Attach/ Detach. 2 min‘s its on another 2 mins it‘s off- cool... Than i test how the Tiller works behind the 656 Horse - make long story Short, it seems it was an original feature, that is made for this horse. Picts of the result will be come maybe tomorrow, i had an urgently task for now. A Trailride thru the Forrest, drive until it begin to gets dark. Yeeeeehaaaa - my little Horse, go on, we are in a Hurry... Here we are ! - my beloved Sunset Point and watch a beautiful Sunset. with the Mountains in skyline a fantastic View. I love it. after Sunset we ride back home on way‘s normally prohibited for Horses 😂 but i was allowed to ride there with my Horse.. 😇 A great Day find it‘s end.

Stormin 9,981 #94 Posted November 14, 2020 Your a lucky man Stefan. Having to be able to take your horse for a gallop along tracks like that. Looking forward to the tiller photo's. Looks interesting. 2

Tractorhead 9,064 #96 Posted November 15, 2020 Here the promised results of yesterday‘s Work. - not completeley finished. Aligned the bed to level and used this material for fill up the Frontyard.. tilled after i smoothened with the horses tyres.( next thing will be a grass roller in plan) We discuss, maybe to remove that island in the middle and aligned it a bit more, but the final Plan grows, so i have to stop for now until the Plan come to its final status. This is the frontyard, filled up, but lots of hours and material is needed to get it in that Shape i like to have. The tiller result on the place where the trailer sits the last 3 years. testspot if the tiller works even on grass - yes it worked.
Tractorhead 9,064 #97 Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) Doing a bit better Pict on the cleaned and reworked Pulley. than i decided to clean the Hubs with the Wirebrush I find my Never Dull and polished the Chromestack to shine brighter as the Sun😎 The Screw‘s for the Rim’s i cleaned also and remove all the rust. than i use the black color i had in spare from my FEL Built, to paint the Screwheads in Black. at least i wirebrushed also complete the rear Fender and decided to Paint it also but that smooth Paint is too different to it‘s style. I found that the structured Fender fits better to it‘s image. Because i like the structured Surface it has before, i experimented with rests of structured Paint and hope i can nearly get this structure Back on the Surface as it was before. after first primer it was gone and bored plain - i wait for 20 min before added firstly RAL3003 onto surface, simply Plain waaaah. No, not a Style that fit‘s.... Than i spray it over wet in wet with a structured coating paint i had 2 bottles as rests of. i wasted both bottles and the result looks exact similar as before. Tried to fastened up the curetime with a old hairdryer and give it a curetime of another 30 min then again with RAL3003 in 2 Steps. firstly in lenght direction second in width direction allway‘s with a „Hairdryer curetime“ of 20min and additional cure of 30 min. so at least it was too dark in the Shed to see it clearly on the Pict‘s I guess. But a structure is definitively given, it seems it looks nearly like before. That‘s how it turns out for the moment. Finally curetime will depending and i will see tomorrow, how it looks finally. The structure felt like sandboard on skateboards but a little rougher. except the Area on the Wheelhorse Sticker, that was protected with mask tape and stay as it was. i like it. Tractorhead 9,064 #98 Posted November 26, 2020 A step in between, because the Rim‘s are still at sandblasting and after the Coater, i will be prepared if it snow‘s. Weather seems to be unsure after looking on Satellitepicts, so better to be prepared, but how without Tyres and Rims. Ha, there is another Horse in the Stable, that can be fitted. so cut few Steelparts, thinkering aaaaand buzzing it all together... should last for my needs. if i go in troubles with Snow, i can quickly attach a Wooden shield, better than plow by Hands.
Tractorhead 9,064 #99 Posted November 26, 2020 Another Day one Step further, Ok today in the morning i thought how about a Plowshield „togo“ after Work i wen’t home and go immediately in the Shed and fireup the Bandsaw, than the Drill and later the Welder. i decided when i have a plowshield, than it has to work on my both horses. - no more no less and no compromises. So i fabed a Frontmount onto the Frontlifter to be able to switch the Plowshield on both machines as Backup. . it seems it fit‘s... And enough gap for the Swing is also. Time to weld a steelplate with 2 nuts on, to be able to do the same setup as with the 656 i copied on the 212. Not a brutforce built, but it should last. I hope the Rims for the 656 comes quicker than Snow. maybe i give it tomorrow a Paintjob on the Frontlifter - we will see. Additionally today a new Headgasket arrives, i bought by mistake. Tried to klick on Observe but accidentally hit the „Buy now“ button.. 😎 Curious what‘s happens first, Snow or the new Reartyres on the 656. However and whatever comes first - i be prepared.
Tractorhead 9,064 #100 Posted January 3, 2021 Upgrade is done, after i reworked my Tecky Engine just a little ( decarbonize) i changed one of the Charging Coils ( the lower turns with bigger Wire) with another fresh winded Coil with more Windings. Something for information - My testresult are as follow: first Coil was 55 Wdgs. = 8,05V at full throttle 5,81V in idle second Coil was 78 Wdgs = 11,42V at full throttle and 8,57V in idle third Coil 86 Wdgs = 12,8V at full throttle and 9,98V in idle My result: That means - it needs a Winding of 98 Wdgs at least on each Coil to get the 14,5V as minimum Result. That been around 12V in idle, the more windings, the better the results, but you be restricted by the Place on this Coilspace. note: all readings are done in AC V directly from the Coil. But also the Current is not Bad with the 1,0 mm insulated Copper Wire. My Measuring reads a total of 8,98A AC Shortcut Amperage on Clamp Ammeter. not Bad IMHO. with just the Actual 86 Wdgs I tested also with 2x 55W H7 Bulbs, they be normal bright. At least bright enough for a simple to built Light Coil. They need just a Diode and Condenser to support stronger LED‘s flicker free, otherwise they will flicker hardly on idle. So far i was fine with that Results, maybe they help somebody with same problems i decided to make it a Custom in my Way, that means few parts will be refreshed and other Parts stay as they are. i like that mixed look. 2
