Tractorhead 9,064 #52 Posted September 16, 2020 Just a minor works today First of all i have to release the frontyard from some mushrooms. felt about 80 pieces... after that i cleanup the rewelded deckwheels with a steelbrush, i degreased them and paint them on the upper side. as i hear a Sprinter comes up the driveway - must be toy‘s for me? yyyyyyyyaap. He delivers few things i have ordered. Several Screws in several grades galvanic plated, aaaand A new Deck belt. maybe a little bit too small, i shall reorder one size up. and few radial bearings for the Deckspindles and few other toy‘s. but i have no time to play, must mow frontyard, because it‘s getting daily earlier dark. So i fired the Lights on. Whow great... but the f****** Moskitos.. ah, and another Harvest the upper Frontaxle greaseCaps are hammer, they seems they last, and 1

Tractorhead 9,064 #55 Posted September 16, 2020 @Achto i‘m also curious how it performs behind the Wheelhorse but firstly it must reworked a little. while it‘s last use behind the Iseki with 4WD and Diff Lock we plow in a fresh harvested wet Soil with a lot of heavier roots, what we don‘t know before. The Beast pulls it steady and smoothly until i hear a loud Ploink and bended a little bit the Mount (result can be seen left side in this Picture) from straight to 30 deg. Upwards and the mainbar from the left Plowblade about 3 degrees sidewards to the outside. But the Iseki ain‘t sounds or seemed stressed in any Way, that Beast with it‘s Ricefieldtyres it is an ultimate Plow Machine. just the Plow jump out of the row.. Now i have a much bigger Plow for the Iseki, ( if i measured and calculated right it is an 10“) so i decided to rework this smaller Plow for the Wheelhorse but i must build a completely new Mount for it, what i do actually. Thinkering on a adjustable depth restriction tyre as an addon. Before this Plow will go next time into any Soil, i have to ask edi - one of my Friends, if he will leant me his Burner or help me, that i be able to bent it back to straight as it should be, to give the Wheelhorse a fair condition. i still hope i get my own Part of Shed fast, that i can built finally a own complete Workshop. Actually it wasn‘t the doing what restrict‘s me, it just be the Weather depending breaks, that annoys and restricts me.
Tractorhead 9,064 #56 Posted September 19, 2020 Got it ! Yeeeeee haaaaaa! What a great Day. the First i see, the Horse ain‘t like this mixture with the Paint and spit if off. ok, not Bad the Patina was even nicer, i can Deal with that because the Patina is still under the Color preserved. That mixture with Color and fluidfilm wasn‘t any Success, but this Day shall changing several Things for me. I just feared because of fresh rust. i decide to cut the Hedge today, because it grows strongly the last weeks with a lot of Rain. The morning starts without alarm Clock at 6:00. i get my first cup of Coffee and prepare all for my Daily Work. While i‘m close to finish, i see Martl, while he is cleanup the Shed. 4 bigger Tractors comes in the Font and pull Things out of the Shed. All point‘s with the Finger in my Direction and discuss something and i wonder, than they spent applause for my selfmade Hedgecutter 😎 I felt pround and do my Work and give them a wink. When i finished my Work, each of their Tractor have a new Attachement and the stay together for a Talk. After my Hedge was cutted, i start the 212 Horse and put the sweeper on it and clean the road. Than i fired the 656 Horse and mow arround the House. While i finished my Work Mart‘l comes over with his smaller Steyr Tractor and told me i shall come over to the Shed - immediately now! I jumped onto my 656 fired it up immediately and drive over to them and wonder what was happen. All the Farmers stay together and we had a little discussion, because few of them needs also a little space for their new Attachements. The first few question was about the 656 Wheelhorse, they like it, we talked who needs what kind of space and we found a good Agreement for all of us. Each of us was satisfied with the Solution we found and the Price is ok. Now all my Tractor have their own Shed, where i have even enough space to Work in. the Tractors from now on never must Stay outside even the old Astra can be kept a little longer for Spare Parts. There is plenty of room even to stack some Things because this Shed have allready a Heavy Table, that can easily acting as a Workbench. Mart’l told me I can put all my Things in from now on. Great ! A heavy build Table, what can easily carry a Horse is still in and also 230V Power is available, i just have to install a counter. No more wrenching outside and that in a short reachable distance. What a great Day. Woooo hoooo. 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #57 Posted September 23, 2020 Martl told me few day‘s ago i can have some fresh Wood, he mentioned i shall do a rework the Barn gate, it was old wood and looks rotten with it‘s Patina and nearly fell apart. Don‘t ask how he looked if i answered, Hey - i love that rotten look how you called it or „Patina“ how i called it. so nobody identify‘s there can be something inside of interest or even somethings have changed It is still hidden and nondescript. - perfect! So i reworked this Gate the last 2 Day‘s, because the original nail‘s begin definitively to fall out and it was pretty instable. I decided to check the status of the Wood itself and it was in good shape. So i just must exchange the loosen and or rotten nail‘s with about 200 galvanized and black painted Screws and fixed it back again until it becomes dark and starts to rain. - i know, no pict‘s -> nothing is happen.. but it was too dark today Than i found on his dump place few old Wooden things ( maybe an old border of an old Trailer) cutted in halves but with good usable wood he wanna trash and i can Save it. Why? - now i like to built 2 Windkeepers on the lower part on the Gates out form few old rotten Metalparts, they prevent a Swing on stronger Winds. I think that be hinges maybe but rocksolid and with a fantastic Patina, they stick into that old Woodpards, what fit‘s perfectly the oldstyle Optics of the Gate. Just the Screws are new. After i do a try about the recreated stability i was impressed how stable and good that old Wood itself is. it was lightly curved over the time but stable just on very close to the bottom it was bit decaying. now it‘s stable again like freshly built, but looks still the good old style.

Tractorhead 9,064 #62 Posted September 24, 2020 The Barn Door as it looks from outside.. just if you look closer, you will see my „rework“ the lock and the formerly hinges, they act now as Windprotector. this stick‘s just 2/3 the Way it could be in. simple solution and relatively good hidden. today some more parts arrived, so i can prepare the Powermeter to get connected. i just juse the 230V and leave the 400V Plugs unused for the Moment. final check - and we be able to plug in. so tomorrow finalize the installation and than i be ready. also ordered today a Siccors Lifter. For 3,5 To capacity, that shall be enough for my needs. 4
Tractorhead 9,064 #63 Posted September 26, 2020 i had begun a little to sorting all my tools. Look what i have Found in my fathers old leather wrenching toolbox... hidden between felt hundrets of wrenches i found it again. That‘s a bottle from my Dad, he purchased somewhere in the late 70-ies. 1978 or 1979 i believe and he keep it like a big secret. I saved this Bottle like my eyeballs over the Time now since 1987 when my dad was passed. i cannot tell why, but it is so. The content in this bottle was one of his “fixing miracles“ i inner voice tell’s me „i have to keep it“ for some reason.
Tractorhead 9,064 #64 Posted September 30, 2020 Remounted today a new Choke bowden. after that i remount the Beltcover with new Screws. i think i may try to remove that impacts also but not now, on the other hand they beeing a part of it‘s charakter.. than i get a piece of the cutted choke bowden and rebuilt out of that a new governor linkage. Here the Choke hangs free, to easily measure the ideal linkage lenght. While the hole of the carb is here a little bigger it can take both, the governor linkage and the throttlespring together. And they don‘t affect each other. Throttleresponse is nice and smoothly, even idle. Maybe a little too slow, will check that tomorrow with an rpm meter. Tractorhead 9,064 #67 Posted October 2, 2020 While we was today big shopping, i see a very massive and felt stable ladder. i checked it about the mechanics and it looks very Solid. Price was 99€, i decided shortly i must have it to begin my Electric Installation in the Shed. So i grabbed one. Comparable ladders here will be about 250€ That‘s a steal. after Shopping i have to Mow, because forecast tell‘s the next day‘s some Rain and grass still grow‘s quick, but while the 656 is without any Deck for the Moment, i give the 212 a ride today. It still does it‘s job, even if one bearing occurs a louder noise (time to rebuild that) First crank and it was running. A big different i detected today, there is a massive discrepancy between the 212 and the 656 in Speed. even in 5- th gear if drives felt slower than the 656 at Topspeed. Also the 212 must be slower passing high grass cut Areas, here the 656 works felt much more efficiently in compare. But however it does it‘s job pretty nice.with the resharpen knives. Lads what shall i say, i love my own Workshop, that is such a great issue to have an own well equipped Workshop with a lot of Space where you can work how you like to do and whenever you want. Unbeatable. Waiting still on my scissors Lift, but i get an info, they need 3 Months to build - a hard time to wait..

Tractorhead 9,064 #71 Posted October 6, 2020 First Part of my Workshop is still ready to be used. The rest will grow, i‘m sure about. While first things are still on their Place, where i need them, i begin to „upgrade“ the 656. Dunno, if it‘s good or Bad, but i got 2 Days before an offer, i couldn‘t resist. I found 8“ Rim‘s with 3/4“ Bearings in flame new Rims for only 31,40€ each. The only con was, they be Poweder coated in Aluminum Silver instead of White. Max. Load capacity is rated at 300Kg by up to 14 Km/h each Rim. while i ask them if it is possible to Powdercoat them in White, i get a no as resonse. Wrote them i‘m so sad but if i would buy Rims they shall be White. The next Day they sent me an offer - Rim’s in solver both together a 50 straight include Shipping. Ok, i can paint them, but i give them a Try how it looks. no no, i don‘t plan to trash the Horse’s original rims, they be kept with the Original Tyres. They fit‘s perfectly, i just be not sure, if i can live with that Silver instead of White. On the other side the Beast have allready White rims... 1
Tractorhead 9,064 #72 Posted October 9, 2020 Test today if the 8“ of the 656 will fit on the 212 Horse.. yap, they did, so also increase the Deckwheels at one inch At least i build a Welder cart out of some scrap material i had laying arround. So the Welder fits under the Table and is able to beeing moved whereever i deed it. 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #73 Posted October 10, 2020 Firstly a new Toy arrived... I ordered a doubleaction Bench Grinder. after mount and test, i installed Today a bit more light. than i decide to build a simple wooden Tool Dolly also made from Scrap Wood laying arround. The Front optics shall be fit to the Worktable, so i like to build it in „Aged Wood“ Style. I think it looks good and fit’s exacly the look i wanna have, it is made of 40 mm thick 50year old Wood that was formerly a Siderail of an old Trailer. The inlay and the table was made of newer part‘s laying arround. Two Steelplates keep the Front in place and stiffed it strong enough. the Table enhances the stability. with 4 rollers i was able to move it in any Direction. think i will rework also the Welder Dolly Front in the same optic, that it fit‘s in my Style. I like the 1/2“ pipe- Wrench Carrier on the Front, that give them all the real old school look. 2
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,326 #74 Posted October 10, 2020 @Tractorhead will you be able to have a stove of some type to heat your new workshop ?
Tractorhead 9,064 #75 Posted October 10, 2020 (edited) Nope a Stove is just possible with huge addon’s or be prevented by local chimney sweeper. That was my hope, because Scrap wood is easy to get, but on Friday i had a schedule with them because they have the Mayesty to allow or prevent. They say no Way, except i build an external Stainless Chimney 15m high. Cost will be about 5000 buck- so nope. Thinked a lot about any Heater Source. LPG heater is out of possibillity because i need one with blower and the ain‘t possible to run restricted. the 10KW will fire from start in full Flame what results in a 11Kilo LPG buddle will last max. 4-5hours. Electric is also no option, i don’t want to set my Powerline to it’s Limit i will experiment tomorrow with a 2 KW Air heater for Trucks, and if this will work as i thinking, i will order a 10KW Version of it and install it as mobile Heater. The exhaust pipe will be handled with a wellflex pipe to outside the shed, but the Shed is not really insulated at all, i just brought a bit Foil inside onto the Wall, to prevent direct Winds. that helped allready much - no stronger directly winds and it is felt warmer. If my plan with the Webasto works the Winter can‘t shock me. Edited October 10, 2020 by Tractorhead 2
