The Bavarian Wheelhorse grows

After my Horse Arrives at it’s new Bavarian Stable in healthy condition,

 

 

i do a lot of rework to Customize it for my Purposes.

I call it „the Narrow chest“ - but with lot‘s of Torque for a 6 HP Engine.

 

To clear up things First,

i know exactly and in detail what i have purchased and i agree with all of it.

@pullstart Kevin my Buddy tells me honestly and fair all what i get and how it‘s condition.

( just in case something of my description sounds negative, it wasn’t meant so. I know what i get and i agreed ahead with all to 100% even now)

All things i change, are things that i be like to do, and i love my Project Horse „ Narrow chest“ because it is as it is.

 

ok, after that is now clear, i will continue.

 

while i filled up all Oils and greases all needed Parts i thinkering between a full Resto or keep it‘s Patina.

No Final decision for this Task is taken until now, but for the Moment it keeps it‘s Patina.

i protecting it with Mike Sanders, to prevent following Rust, 

i also play with different Stacks and Mufflers i have arround, 

while original Muffler is strongly rusted and begin to disintegrate themself.

 

 

 

 

than i mounted new Deckwheels on, while the original are Worn out.

will check if i can fix them otherwise.to reuse.

 

 

 

 

Clean out the cooling Fin‘s on the Engine, 

 

 

and reworked the Seat from my 212 Horse and mount it on.

 

 

Than i mounted a Grease nipple onto Hitch mount, to prevent a fix rusted Bolt and be able to maintaining it.

 

 

  Today the next Level of rework was delivered.

But next Upgrade Steps depending a bit, while Sohn is moving few 100 Miles far

and we have to help him this Weekend while moving.

 That causes in no Horse time for me sadly, but the Part‘s allready still be here.

 

 

Even while our direct neighbours meant that my chomestack seems to be much louder than all my other Tractors

( i don’t imagine so, but it is much deeper in Sound more like a Singlecylindre Harley)

However, to not annoy’s the neighborhood i ordered another muffler and mounted it the last Day‘s quickly on.

A short check give me a different Sound ( not so deep as the Chome one) but it‘s accepted by Neighbours.

Ok, so i go with that Muffler, i can deal with it.

 

The Heim Joints are for the 2 complete new Tie Rods i will built, 

just must be passion for the new Steelrods, to finally build them.

planing about another rework.

 

not sure, if there are other Blades available in 16“ - looking for one with wings for a stronger Fan effect.

I thinkering about 3 other additional covers, means a closed rear cover 

and 2 changed sidecovers with 100 mm Attachements where a pipe can be connected as leaf Collector

for the comeing Autumn.

I hoped this can help me to use the Deck as a Side discharging unit to blow the Leafes via the pipes into a collecting bag.

An collector Bag on the Back and a lot of work can be done much more easier, just with some more Seattime.

Because i ordered last time the wrong Airfilter, (doesn‘t fit while changed Airfiltercase) 

i found today the next in the Postbox,  i have ordered.

 

finaly that Fits.😎 ( yes now i know it‘s one for a Kohler.. ) 

 

added a Pict with the new Exhaust.

 

aaaaaand a new Shifter Boot.

 

 

Now the Gearbox is back safe, even if it begin‘s to rain while mowing..😎👍

 

Finally for today i dismounted the Blades to order others with Winglets.

The Seat works a bit on it‘s  prespaning after Weather changes.

Today arrived a new Gas Bowden and a new Starter.

tried to rework it, but for 40$ i found a complete new one.

 

there is no discussions if it‘s good or just cheap, i think it will last at least until i have reworked the Original.

I keep it, it still can sit in the shed until i get my Barn.

 

searching for matching tyres, but i‘m a bit unsure about the size.

i have found a set of 26 x 8,5 x 12 but i don‘t know if the will fit. Price is 120$.

other will be 23 x 8,5 x 12 as allready on, but they asking 250$ for a set.

26 x 8.5 x 12 would put the new tire just under 4mm closer to the bottom of the fender pan. If you have enough room left they should work.

Doing a mow- job today 😂😂😂😂😂

 

had some seattime.

yap, like my horse how it performs after changing few Things.

 

It is Funny to mow firstly in 2 speed and after a carefully turn shift (without any noise) in 3 speed and pull the trigger and fly over the Grass, what‘s been mowed perfectly behind me.

The light sirring noise of the mowerblade sounds like a small roots..

love that sound.- what a Funny Ride.

 

After the mow- job i decide to change the tie rods. Because i see they get more and more play,

so i built myself 2 tie rods made from M10 stainless threaded rod i have allready.

 

 

The heim joints must be still adjusted, but on right side i made the tie rod a bit too long,

so i have to cut it down tomorrow.

 

 

 

 

Heeey it‘s a horse, is that a required Gadget for it... 😂😂😂😂😂

did today the Setup of the new tie rods.

Changed the other Day the old Keyswitch to a Emergency Stop Switch.

 

Added today a new Throttle shifter right side lower, i use the same like i have on my 212 Horse.

Tried today to grab the AC Voltage and send it to a regulator, but it does not support useful Voltage.

 

just 0,3 V AC occurs, not enough for the Lights, a rework of the Coil is required.

Than next parts arrived.

 

 

 

 

A set of new Mowerblades, but they also just have to be reworked until they be usable,

but it seems a possible solution for what i would use them.

 

we will see.

 

Friends arrived with their Motorhome to spent few Day‘s here,

that means my work must be interrupted for a short periode.

Additionally it begins hardly to Rain, that means also a Stop for now.

 

prepare all for a nice Barbecue.

in a Glassmanufacture.

 

Not much Tractor parts but a lot of nice Gadgets...

 

 

 

 

 

than i found out, the build real Men‘s Beer glasses..

At least, i find a nice gadget, i take with me.

When we came home, few delivery‘s was laying arround.

i looked the first Package and found a new Toy.

 

Just for my private purposes i decide i will do a test for myself.

The last Tool i purchased from same Noname Brand was a Accu Grinder, what really impresses me until now.

With fully charged Original Makita Batterypack (3Ah) i was able to work close 2h of continousely cutting some Steelparts (5mm in thickness) i compared it with a buddy in the Office, where we did that Challenge together, to find out, what that cheap machine can do.

 

That impresses me for a Price of only 36€ - He uses a original makita is pricey located at 220€

and won‘t beat that cutting time much ( just 30 sec. More) i can do.

The Haptic was similar, even the Weight. Both seems in quality similar,

just the color and the Blade mounts differs.

Mine have only an18mm collar screw and need‘s an Adapter ring for Standard 115mm suicide Blades.

 

after that Challenge i be brave and ordered another machine - an Impact wrench - for dang Cheap 28€..

I Though for 28€ it will be sure just any cheap crap, but however, let‘s have a look to it and i ordered it.

it shall be also compatible to Makita Battery‘s, i had a bunch of them, so i decided last time with the grinder

i will have a look for some more tools for them.

 

It‘s very heavy and feels like a high quality Tool.

 

The Handling responses very well balanced and the Battery fit‘s perfect.

I‘m again impressed about that Company. Especially for that Price they offered that Machines.

 

When it‘s the same quality as my Grinder i don‘t need more Machine for just private use.

 

 

The shaft is for 1/2“ Tools and snap perfectly in them, 

when it reaches it‘s given 520 nm, that is quite another handy Tool unbeatable in pricerange.

Brushless motor, exact working Trigger throttle.

just another Label and nobody will believe it‘s not a original Makita.

 

it seems it‘s from the same Manufacture as original Makita‘s came from, maybe B Ware.

But i can deal with for that Price.

tractorhead, glad to see you getting after the issues on the tractor, i agree with heim joint steering set up, i have been using mine now for years with no issues at all. those plastic deck wheels are another issue , they will break and fail try to get an original type with the steel center on bearings. not knowing your parts availability , i use a 6" steel wheel on mine with hard rubber tread, search around and see what others are doing . goodluck with your project , pete

I know about that crappy Plastic wheels ain‘t last long, 😎

but this plastic „hoppies“ is just a interrim solution for me until i have reworked the Original Metal wheels

and put them back in Service again but that needs a bit time on my Site, while i must wait to move in my own part of Shed.

 

Before i can move into, i‘m still weather depending with some Works or have do on a „pleaseplease“ on any Workshop...  ya know  🙄

Because of that i just can Weld, when no Rain happens or i must ride 80 Km far to a Buddy.

 

The originals are definitely worn out, but can be brought back in Service with new bushings.

i don‘t wanna change my Horse far from original. (plastic is not a real option in my opinion, just as interim solution).

Just few things i will change against original ( throttle lever i. Eg)

because i like and need it that Way, but the Horse shall be as original as possible.

2 new Fronttyres including tubes - a steal i found where i‘m searching for other Parts on the bay.

 

The funny thing is, they‘re from a Dealer few Valley‘s down the road.

Few day‘s before i was at their Store and they asked 136€ for this pair including tubes 😳

i asked - how much, the seller answered again  only 136€ ..... 🤪 it‘s Corona time, they be expensive now 🙄

 

now i get it via Web and pay for all together 36€... 😂😂😂😂😂

Hard week is closed to finish.

Mom is now back at home after she‘s falling unusual and cracked 3 whirls in the Back..

Did some administrative visits.

The day‘s get shorter and shorter every Day it seems Winter is comeing fast here.

While it‘s the first sunny Day since weeks of Rain i Stolen this day few hour‘s i like to have for my Horse.

I mow the whole the yard than i wanna know why the Lightcoil‘s don’t work.

 

I don‘t believe of the 520nm the seller offered on that cheap impact wrench, but it is still powerful.

tried it on my Car‘s tyres - no problem open the Nuts, even on Kati‘s Tyres it works pretty well, 

enough for my needs.

 

Than i started the closer investigation, why the light Coil wont just spit 0,3V.

therefore i dismounted the front enginecover, than i use the new Impact wrench

and opened the Flywheelnut.

frrrr open - whow nice in less than 2 seconds.

 

to pop off the flywheel i use a flat Steel and push and press the flywheel over the play outside.

2 lightly Hammerhits and 

 

 

Tadaaaa    Flywheel is away. - cool 😎 

 

That little Powertool saves a lot of Time and it is worth it‘s Price definitely.

 

than i see clearly what‘s happen with the charging Coils.

 

They done by a short or maybe by an overload, however.

ok here the best times are gone, they must be reworked if i like to use the Teccy as an Charger also

to chage a Battery and have light on it.

Think i order few meters copperwire and rewire them simply, not the first time i did that.

That‘s not a too hard issue, perfect job for a rainy Sunday.

after rewinding bring them up and glue them in Place.

 

 

One coil falls appart.. that coil is definiteley trash.

 

but the other slides right off.

 

completely in one piece.

That make it much easier to rework externally without the Baseplate and the engine can be stay in Tractor in that Time.

 

 

After that i again redrilled the Hood holes from 2mm to 2,5mm and inserted 2 new Splint‘s

 

 

Much better.

 

 

At least i brushed the Exhaust with a steelbrush and painted it with high temp Color in black.

 

 

 

the stainless muffler will be kept as it is.

Thinkering to remove that muffler again an bring back the Chromestack.

i love the look and the sound, this one is maybe a bit more silent, but it sounds to nothing.

 

Now i have to stop my Work, because i must Visit Kati in Hospital,

she had a knee Surgery and get a new Knee.

Winding coils is tedious & kind of fun all at once. When I used to race radio controlled cars, one of the classes was only allowed what they called a stock 27 turn motor. This meant that each pole on the motor had 27 wraps of wire on it with a set 27 degree timing. The winding was done by machine from the factory. I would disassemble the motors and rewind them to 27 much tighter wraps by hand, when done I usually used about 15cm less wire that the factory did. After doing this plus putting special cuts on the brushes, I would have a gain of 750+ RPMs out of the motor. This greatly increased the speed of my car.  On a side note: my motors would pass tech inspection every time.

i didn‘t recoil any Motors for races, but there are some issues, that can be improved i know.

great when you had such success with your optimizing Solutions.

I build instead several Antennas, Baloons, and Antenna Tuner Equippment for Fox Hunting on HAM Radio.

from 2m Band up to 10 GHz, where wires become back to pipes and installation go back more to Plumbing.

 

My Master system i have still in parts here. - Aaaaah hold on... ( lurk sideway‘s) YAP.

 

Arround that Antenna System i remember must be an Source for Copperwire.

HA!  I have found it, i have an older Transformer with 1 mm Copperwire on it.

That seems perfect for my needs.

So now just quick construct and build a Coilholder on my 3D Printer to recoil and maybe tomorrow i‘m back in business.

 

I love my collection of Material, even somebody means it looks messy.

but i found ( mostly allway‘s ) the things i need in my collection.
