D-160 Update!

Recommended Posts

bottjernat1

Well wanted to give some updates on my free d-160. I have the fuel system good now. I dont have to prime it I put a check valve on it. And i was able to buy a flywheel screen off someone on Facebook. I also put some other things back together. Now everything on it runs and works as it should. Next goal is a mower deck, snowplow, and 3 point hitch. Hopefully i can dig up the money for the snow plow. I want that first. Id like to plow with it this winter.

Pretty sure the pic of the blower is for a D-250.Looks like the one I used to have.Completely different animal than yours.

Would this go right on my d series? I just found this on craigslist https://flint.craigslist.org/grd/d/swartz-creek-wheel-horse/7160016603.html  or do i need a front pto. Or does this run off the electric pto?

That link you posted for the blower is indeed a D series blower which will fit the D160, 180 and 200. It's the exact one I have for my D180. I can't tell from photo if it has the gearing and framework to attach it to the tractor, though. I can send some pics of mine if it would help. Let me tell you those things a HEAVY. Not easy to get on and off, either. But man, when it snows, I'm like a kid in the candy store. The deeper the better.

Yeah I would greatly like some photos. I am just looking to see what attachments I can add to my d-160. I am sure its heavy it would have to be the horse is a beast. I have a 47 inch 2 stage blower for my x540 john deere it is a heavy beast as well. i dont use it because of how heavy it is. its only been used about 5 times in its life. Thanks for the video.

If anybody has a snow plow for my 1976 D-160 and everything to connect it and use it. I will have some money to buy one next week and I am going to Portland. If you have one bring it and i will buy it! I did hurt my back so if someone can help me load it on my trailer i would be greatful. Please send me photos and i may just commit to a buy! message me here or Facebook messanger. Picture for a reference.

I’ll try and post some pics in the next day or so. It’s not installed, currently, so I can’t show you the set up. It’s an interesting mounting system, but it does use the Tach-a-Matic system and the front pulley with a small belt for the drive.
