Newer transaxles

One of the tractors that showed up here is a 93  312 8 speed with an 1 1/8" axle transmission.I found it full of water today.I drained it and put in 10/30 weight oil  to keep everything covered.Since it sat for some time I am going to open it up and replace all of the bearings.

Based on  what I can find here and other sources on line, some of the needle bearings cross with earlier transaxles and some do not.A popular vender here seems to offer a good variety of kits for the 1533 bearing transaxles but not the later models.I can get the differential carrier bearings from parts tree but at $81.00 a pop, well I don't think so.I know that some would say flush the case and run it but  bad needle bearings  can do a lot of damage to more expensive parts.Has anyome here have a good source for the bearings I mention, part numbers, etc?

Hi Jim.  Try wheelhorsepartsandmore.com. They have a lot of different options including complete rebuild and seal kits.

The carrier bearings may be a more common SKF 6008-C3 (40x68x15mm)

All the bearings you need are listed in the pinned topic top of this section.  Any bearing house can fix you up.  i happen to use EB Atmus.  Example the 6008-c3 is $23.42  Free shipping over $75 which if you replace all the bearings and sealsyou will be at.

Paul,

Thanks to you and Garry. I must be missing something.I went to the pinned bearing and seal cross reference charts that Steve listed.I did not see the SKF 6008-c3 bearing mentioned.I also have a WH transaxle repair manual and it does not mention anything newer than the early 80s If the SKF bearing is correct for my application then there are a pair in the new box listed on E-bay for I think $16.00 delivered. WH Parts and More has  the bearing and seal kits for the 1533 transaxles but no listing that shows the 6008-c3. I did try to research this site and others before bothering you guys with this post.If I have missed something obvious please let me know.It will be greatly appreciated

 Paul,

I just reread all of the pinned topic on seal and bearing cross references and saw where Steve explained how to figure the bearing number for the needle bearings.I  was looking for something like the charts he posted. Thanks for pointing out the  location of the info. Thanks again, your help is appreciated.
