Fish Crawford 13 #1 Posted August 17, 2020 So upon further inspection it looks like i need to remove clutch plates to get belt off. Is this correct? Also curious on belt size? 1985 310-8 Thanks in advance!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #2 Posted August 17, 2020 Transmission drive belt 78-7100 replaced by 7473 - HB x 81.9" or 5/8" x 81.9" The C-Series tractors in this older service manual applies to the 300-Series tractors. The drive belt replacement is in Section 5 on page 2. Garry 1
953 nut 55,771 #3 Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Your drive belt for the tractor is part # 7473 which is a 5L-820. I have had good luck with the Kevlar belts from Tractor supply. You will need to remove the belt cover on the right side and clamp the clutch pedal down. Edited August 17, 2020 by 953 nut

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #5 Posted August 17, 2020 No need to remove the pto pulley. Remove the 2 bolts holding the brake pad on. Then the belt will come off. To put the brake back on apply the pto. Place a business card between the brake pad and the pto bell. Hold it tight and tighten the bolts. Release the pto and remove business card. Ready to go.
