PeacemakerJack 10,738 #26 Posted August 17, 2020 This is Rusty...my 1054A. As I understand it, these were basically an early 1965 carryover model to use up remaining 1964 1054 parts. I wish they would’ve dropped in a K301 and named them the 1255 instead...🤔 This tractor looks rough around the edges but it runs good and is a fun worker. For now it will retain its original patina but a new seat and painted rims are in its near future. Judge brings a load of sticks back to the fire pit area. Notice the 1965 original front tires and the amazingly good condition dash and steering wheel decals... This is a fun thread @12Horse Paladin! You are on the right track to setting one of these up as a plow mule. They are a great platform for that as evidenced by Shynon’s above and my dad’s tractor that I named Clyde... good luck in your pursuit...I look forward to plowing with you one day... 6 1

That was a thread, too, that made them catch my eye. That is a sharp tractor! But 'rough around the edges'...to me that's a Fine 'look' too...honest wear, n a testament of days gone by. Shoot...until i found this forum n expressed intrest to my Dad, all his, then mine, wore workclothes. Now he's even busted out a rattlecan or two, lol. In your one pic with the front tires...i love those, n have a set on my c160. But i had no idea...1965? Wow. But...those, n ags on the back, thsts what id ideally like to run on the 1054 currently only residing in my head. Just love the look of them. N how my 160 handles with them, too. As to plowing with me one day...all i can say is...wow. And thankyou. I surely would not mind that at all😊 2 1

WHX?? 48,777 #34 Posted August 17, 2020 Wonder why they discontinued this model after just two years? @953 nut Appears that they made a bunch of them so must have been a popular model with dealers and buyers alike? Too expensive to make and compete in the day?

Too expensive to make and compete in the day? My guess would be that the wider availability of interchangeable implements for the smaller made them more desirable. The market for an "Estate Tractor" was probably saturated in a couple years too. By 1969 there was a need for a larger again so the GT-14 filled that need. A lot of parts from the GT-14 are identical to the 953/1054. 9 hours ago, WHX24 said: Was going to give the leftovers to 953 nut but I think you may need them worse @oliver2-44 ! I have the patches welded in and the transmission rebuilt and the engine block bored .030 over and ready to go back together but other projects like the 418-C, GT-14 and narrow front 953 (not to mention honey dos and Church projects) have gotten done first. I do intend to get the body work done and paint it before winter so I can assemble it over the winter. I promise! 2
oliver2-44 9,684 #50 Posted August 19, 2020 I don't mean to side track this thread, but that is a beautiful cross @953 nut Is that stained glass or mosaic tile. My wife has a stained glass cross in the works. You have lots of great projects, in addition to doing amazing work on that WH953. Retirement sure isn't for the lazy!
