DIGIT4LBULL3T

Hello all,

I'm new here to the forums. I am purchasing a generator today that has a Clinton engine on it. The plate say Model# B1290 1115 Serial # 7220340    B

WIth this information is there anyway to get a manufactured date for this engine? Thanks in advance,.

Clinton's records were all destroyed so there is no way to date her, but a B1290 AFAIK was a early-mid 1950's engine.

Good little engines.

I need a rebuild for the Carter carb....air filter................Also, she does run, only on starting fluid but she moves. The gas tank is horrible inside. Can anyone steer me to a parts list, parts available, anything as far as anything, lol.

SO, as I dig deeper, I came across a video with a guy and his Clinton. It had dark green paint which he said it could be a very early engine. Does this hold water? Is there no way to date these engines? I even tried dating it from the Milwaukee side and came up empty?

Way cool I have one of those motors sitting on a shelf and a NOS air cleaner. I dont know what i will ever do with the motor i saved it from being thrown in a dumpster when my dad passed away. my sister wanted to chuck it. I said no way. Ill have to get a photo of it. I love the old clintons!
