Old Roller ID or homemade??

Recommended Posts

My buddy has this roller. Roller is about 8-10” diameter. Looks like solid cast. Is it just a crazy home made thing or some sort of greens keeping roller. Any ideas?39F9EE44-4055-48B9-95C6-2775760BE8BC.jpeg.0b48e20f55e7a713629af8ce38704bfe.jpeg6A20AE65-ECFD-45A5-842F-E0E675AE2A4E.jpeg.7a24f336d1ba30eecba1a5029b4adf4c.jpegF4535F07-E68B-49CC-9E60-5A45B44CBA86.jpeg.e0e1a5aa2a69233f7d6ecf39bf685bf0.jpeg03C7BF0A-08A8-4A7F-9FBB-1B7E02CCA319.jpeg.3ccc634672df71191a8a31a18bf49950.jpeg

My ole man has been installing flooring for over 40 years.

When I were a little littler we had a roller ALOT like that which was for pressing the vinyl flooring into the cement.

It weighed somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 pounds.

I'm pretty sure you're on to something with that, Eric ;)

yep, sure looks like an old floor roller we used when I worked for an old German installing vinyl flooring.  Our was about that diameter but the drum was in 3 pieces on one shaft.
