1974 C160

Recommended Posts

i am thinking about selling my 1974 c160 with plow and cutting deck, runs but may need carb adjustment, i live in penna., would there be any interest in this if so i will post pics.

the engine will start to backfire and lose power when a heavy load is put on it at high rpm's, I cleaned the carb inside and out replaced gas filter and tried all kinds of adjustments to the carb but no luck.I have very limited mechanical ability with this so I am thinking of selling it. I inherited this from a friend who kept it in pristine condition, if there is any interest out there let me know.

That there is a RARE tractor.

Production numbers have never been released. Some say as little as 200 or 300 of those were ever made. You have a Tecumseh engine.

Most were built with Kohler engines.

If you'd like to get that up and running correctly so that you can use it then the folks on this website would be more than happy to help you out.

Mechanically inclined or not, you could do it.

@Docwheelhorse and @Stepney

Check this one out.

With any luck, its just carb or ignition trouble .. however that does distinctly sound like the classic Tecumseh OH160 failure of loose valve seats..

Not every day you see a C160 Special.. very nice indeed.

Yes that is a keeper I agree. I was going to suggest valves as well but @Stepney beat me to it.
