WheelhorseBob 1,549 #1 Posted August 9, 2020 My first hydro.....So I read up on this topic and thought I had it covered. 5 quarts 10-30 oil, NAPA filter and pulled the bolt from the fender bracket to vent. (tank is off for cleaning) All was going well until I got maybe 3-3.5 quarts in. Then the oil level reached the bolt hole and started spewing out. In the threads I read that wasn't mentioned. I let it drain over night so I'm fairly sure all the oil was out. Question, how do I get the rest in? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

WheelhorseBob 1,549 #3 Posted August 9, 2020 So based on that logic it really isn’t a 5 quart change? I guess I assumed that if I drained it, changed the filter I would be able to add 5 quarts. tractormandash 5 #5 Posted September 7, 2020 Hi, my name is Jay and I am brand new to the forum. I've got my first wheel horse. A 1995 416 h. I bought it as a winter unit. I live in Northern Michigan and have a 350 ft. driveway. I understand it has the same hydrostatic transmission as the 520h. My question is regarding oil. It says to use 10w30 or 40. The Easton manual says automatic transmission fluid and hydraulic oil can also be used. I was wondering what others have had the best luck with. I don't plan to cut grass with this machine, only single stage snow blow. If anyone has any of the bolt on wings I would be interested. Thank you for your help.
