pfrederi 17,676 #1 Posted August 5, 2020 I know Toro is very proud of some parts but, seriously $64.81 for a trunnion. Are these things called something else as I can't seem to find them at McMaster or Fastenal. I have put the front tachmatic adapter on my Charger 16 to use a more modern deck. When you use that front adapter you have to use the thick 1/2" lift rod instead of the 3/8" used on Chargers originally. Interestingly the body size of the two trunnions is the same so I guess I could drill out the through hole but even the smaller trunnions are $14.98. Any one have a reasonable source for these??? My method is to use “ hex “ raw material to provide a flat indexed side to drill the two sized holes first. The larger Hole can be left smooth or threaded as required and the pivot side turned to size needed. I used square bar stock as well. Stainless steel hex comes out quite nice if it’s properties are desired. The larger end can be left the hex shape if desired or turned down to a fixed round dimension for fit or just appearance. Lost Pup 172 #12 Posted August 6, 2020 All I had was a short piece of 304 Stainless hex. 1 1/8 across width. I can turn it down round if you wish. Marked our per your request. Holes drilled first on drill press. South Bend 10k lathe , chucked and cut to length. Faced and small diameter .375 turned. Edges And holes chamfered And cleaned up.
