This Pup has what's known as the "mailbox" style hood

:text-coolphotos:                    Obvious choice of name, the family resemblance is remarkable.                  :ychain:

Ha, that's alright... I love talking tractors!

Here's a peak in the door of the tractor garage currently.

That is a beautiful collection. How do you have enough time to keep them all running? Or are they museum pieces?

You musta missed this thread Craig. One good thing I can say about Oldiron is He's pretty liberal with the seat time on his tractors! :handgestures-thumbupright: That Senior is just the tip of the iceberg at Rob's! Man I'm glad he lives in WI!

Ha, thanks Jim! But man, that's the first time I've ever seen my name and the word "liberal" used in the same sentence. Lol

As far as keeping my tractors running, I'll be the first to admit that they don't all get run as much as they should but I've had almost all of the tractors in our collection running at some point. I tend to have 5 or 6 ( the ones that are closest to the garage door) that I run most frequently. But as long as I run the carbs dry, I don't ususaly have many issues running them after being stored for a while.

What's up Lane cat got yer tongue!?!?!?:ychain:

After looking at Tractor Data yes they do need a pic... could be your claim to fame here Rob! :D I don't think their looking very hard they are all over RS here and they give :occasion-clown:'s like Marge @AMC RULES manly issues every time a new one shows up!

Also noted they listed production years from '47 - '55. Is that including the earlier Pond lever steers like you had at my place?

FYI and you already may know this there is/was a guy here that was keeping a registry of all the known seniors and their location.

Thanks Jim! Yep, both my lever steer Pond and Senior are on Ron's registry already.

The first lever steer Pond tractors were built and sold in 1946/1947. It's my understanding that the RS83 replaced the original lever steer in 1948 and until 1955, it was hoodless and just called the RS83. It wasn't until 1955 with the Ride-Away Junior (RJ35) came out that Pond added the fiberglass hood to the RS83 and started calling it a Ride-Away Senior, to match the Junior at the time.

In all seriousness though, in my mind there's no point in having all of these historically significant tractors if nobody sees them, learns about them or gets to play with them. I don't mind running them around and having others carefully tool around on them either as that's what these tractors were made for and it's tough to really hurt them.

Amen to that. And that's why I got out of the small Briggs and Stratton engines when I was younger and started into boat motors. So that I could take them and use them.

And that turned into trucks, tractors, and looks like now small tractors.
