Renrag 69 #1 Posted August 2, 2020 Ok y'all its a 36" rear discharge off my b115. I rebuilt the deck last summer, new everything exept the spindle housing and shafts. Everything else on all 3 spindles was new. Mows great, smooth even cut, untill i hit a patch of thick or tall grass, then blades alost stop to point there almost going backwards. I dont believe this is normal, or should be happening to this degree. I had the clutch off replacing the drive belt recently, maybe i didn't get it back in tight enough. The spindles look good other then ones chipped at a bolt hole and after greasing it the other day, now it turns stiff. Mowing last week i threw the deck belt for no reason, it slowed down a couple times thru the thick patches, when i looked down the belt was hanging over top of deck. It spins so quiet i could barely hear the deck wasn't spinning. So with all that being said, what suggestions, ideas, or experience can i get please im trying to work the last of the bugs out of the project and this ones kinda a big pain in the a@# if im gonna continue to work it, or ill touch up paint and it'll be a eye peice only. I know its not extremely old mower, but it is 34 + years old . I appreciate any help Thank ya'll for taking time to atleast read this

The following is the adjustment instructions. for that clutch.
Renrag 69 #4 Posted August 2, 2020 No the motor don't change at all, thats one of the things i was questioning, because i just guessed setting the clutch till it worked, or at least made deck spin. The other thing im questioning is why the one spindle stiffened up when greased, I'd think it should spin easier.

Renrag 69 #6 Posted August 3, 2020 True theres a big difference between doing by hand and motor. I plan to readjust clutch and at least double check bearings in spindle, just to be safe.
Renrag 69 #7 Posted August 3, 2020 Ok went thru spindle which needed a washer ontop of top bearing, and tightened up clutch last night. We'll see how she mows today. I know a new belt is needed in very near future. Regreased spindles so hopefully she'll be really smooth still.
