dells68 7,498 #1 Posted August 1, 2020 Since we haven’t been able to take any of our tractors to shows this year, Emory wanted to have our own show. We moved 24 of our tractors to a field at Dad’s and camped out with them. Emory had a blast! I’ll be glad when we get back to real shows though! i had to go help a fellow tractor club member cut a poplar tree today. Afterwards we all went to his shop and looked around. I found a surprise sitting in one of his sheds and he wanted to know if I wanted to buy it. I asked about the price and he said $75! I couldn’t pull the money out of my wallet fast enough!! Bought a little Bolens walk behind tractor with cultivator. It’s even still wearing its original paint. Emory was thrilled when I got back with it!! 6 15 1

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,296 #3 Posted August 1, 2020 Nice pictures , what no BBQ ? You should have invited some old men with chairs and it would have looked like a corner of the BS. 4

We are building a shop/tool shed onto our covered building at the homestead our club maintains. We needed just enough boards to finish the front. We plan to cut them Tuesday on the 150 year old sawmill that we have restored. We finally got our dust chain up and running to carry the sawdust out from under the blade a couple of weeks ago and this will be it’s first real test. 6 6

WHNJ701 4,165 #8 Posted August 1, 2020 (edited) the bolens power ho is in nice shape, just check the rims the used some nasty stuff back in the day to fill them, alot of those old bolens 5-12 rims rotted bad. as for those giant poplar logs if you ever make it north I will gladly give you as many as you want Edited August 1, 2020 by jabelman 2

dells68 7,498 #10 Posted August 2, 2020 Emory kept saying he wished some of our friends could come! It would be nice to have something down our way, but it seems like there’s not much interest in our neck of the woods. @Greentored tried to have a southern meet and greet, but cancelled due to lack of interest. I wish we could pull something off down this way someday - there’s just not as many of us horse heads down this way.
dells68 7,498 #11 Posted August 2, 2020 Here are some closer pics of the little Bolens. It appears to have been kept in the dry most of its life and still has most of its original paint. 5
Pullstart 62,798 #12 Posted August 2, 2020 So Dell... I know the answer already from our phone conversation, but do you care to share how many are up and running, and how many were omitted from the show? Totally awesome show, it looks like a perfect grounds to host a meet and greet for sure!
Howie 886 #13 Posted August 2, 2020 I have one of those Bolens here that my dad bought new in 51 or 52. The cultivator dissapeared years ago but still have the disc.

At home I have a 56 rj, 58 rj, a lawn ranger, a 312, and a Ford LGT 165. Only the 56 and 58 need work to run. And several parts machines as well! Now I know I have a problem!! Why did you ask me to count! 1

ohiofarmer 3,265 #16 Posted August 8, 2020 That Bolens is gold at shows. I have seen many used to pull a sulky for one or two passengers happily putting along bringing smiles all around.they travel so slow that no one seems to care when you use them in crowds
