1968 "Pink" Lawn Ranger

Recommended Posts

Terry M

Been reading about Pink Tractors here lately.....So I thought I'd show some pics of my recently restored 1968 Lawn Ranger custom made for my youngest daughter.   Picked this one up for free from my Buddy Terry Dennis @Vinylguy and had plans right away to make it "pink.

Here is a pic of when I first brought it home.

Tractor was in fairly nice shape but was equipped with a very tired 7hp Briggs.

Excellent Restore.

For the foot rest supports did y'all weld some round rod to the frame on each side? Would you mind posting a bottom picture?

I see a pink tractor in my future.

Very cool tractor, I like it. The black parts help to make it not overwhelming-pink.

The back of the foot rest was supported as well, using angle iron.

@Terry M@WHX24 & I had the privilege of checking out that little beauty this spring. @dclarke did a most excellent job on it, just as he does with all his resto's. Very beautiful tractor!! :handgestures-thumbupright:

I'd ask Denny to do me a pink build for me but by the time we got at it my little one's would have little ones who would have little ones!  Since the cats out the bag Denny/Terry guess I can post this one now!l.... When Dan and I visited...Denny wanted Terry to see it first so I couldn't post it. Some other fine tractors ther too!:handgestures-thumbupright:

What size are those tires on that pink Ranger? I am upping the size on the Lawn Ranger I'm working on.

Went up to 4.10x6 on the front (2 inches bigger, was 4.10x4's).

The back is going to wear some 18x8.50s or 18x9.50s. The stock tires are 4.80x8's, so again I went up 2 inches on the diameter (from 16 to 18), and the new tires will be twice as wide.

The back tires are 18x9.50 on stock rims. The front tires are original.

Stock wheels are 8x7's, correct? How is the sidewalls on the tires? Since I need to get new wheels for the back, I wasn't sure if 8x8s would be better to prevent the sidewalls from bulging out

I’m not sure what the stock wheels measure.

Just did some digging, stock wheels are 8"x7". How do the sidewalls look? Does the wheel look too small?

I think they look good. You can get a good idea from the pics in the first few posts of this thread. With that said, I’m sure an 8” wide rim would give you more of a flat side wall and more of a flat tread pattern.
