Yes it will fit but grossly under powered. The largest deck on the C-81 attachment list is 36".

The 8hp will .. just barely pull a 42" at a slow speed. Forget the 48" but it will mount up.

You'd be best suited to keep it on the 14hp.

Back in the 70s and 80s my local WH dealer who was also a southeastern rep for WH sold 42" rd decks on 8hp tractors. He said down here a large majority of lawns are centipede grass that we cut at a 2" height. The rd does not need the extra power to throw the clipping out like the sd does. My first WH was a used 74 B-80 with a 42"rd deck that I bought from him in 1986, I cut my yard for 14 years with it, no problem. Now the 3" stuff could be a bit of a struggle especially if it was damp. Now as far as the 48" it will fit, will it cut :snooty:.

The B80, C81, c85 will spin a 42"SD  easily  i would typically  mow in H1 or L3 gear.

I have a 48" SD on a C-120 and it cuts in short grass, but struggles in the long stuff.

I also have a 48" SD on a 417A  that is unstoppable.   And it sounds like it's happy when it gets on the governor.

A 48" on a 8HP ......not a good idea.
