Update on my little trailer project

Recommended Posts

Got to tow the new ( to me ) trailer a couple times now and I have to say I really like it .

Tows beautifully .

No sway

Backs up straight .

Minimal "bounce" ( bike is about 700 lbs wet ) .

Future projects :

Epoxying some type of plastic strip to the bottom of the ramp frame where it slides into the cavity underneath . It's aluminum on aluminum now and squeaky and a bit difficult to pull out and push in.Guess I'm getting old :D .

2 new ratchet straps as I don't care for the hooks on the rear ones .

Maybe some type of diamond-tread box for straps and misc stuff ?

Niiiice....

On our utility trailer we have a metal box that has a row of holes in a bracket hanging from the lid.

I hang the ratchet end in those holes and roll up the long straps in the bottom of the box.

How about some Teflon sheet stock,    :confusion-confused:          might need to pop rivet it, don't know if anything will stick to it.

They were a bit pricey as they're clear but light up in red & amber and they're bright .

I thought about riveting but the bottom is structural and I wouldn't want to weaken it .

Also kicked around the Hyfax strips from a snowmobile skid-frame but I'd have to rivet those too and they'd be too thick .

Probably going to just rip an old piece of vinyl siding on the table saw and paste it on there .

The surface it glides on is only about an inch wide on both sides and about 4 feet long .

Nice outfit. Is there room to attach a small nylon roller on either side at the front underside of the ramp? Or fit your anti friction strips to the bottom rails on the ramp?
