Wheel horse H520

Wondering if someone has a suggestion or two, about my wheelhouse that starts perfect , runs fine, and then about 20 minutes later it just shuts down. I let it rest for at least 30 minutes, and typically it then starts fine, and once again after about 20 minutes, shuts down. I see a sensor on the front cylinder head, I have taken it out and looked at it, I have tried to disconnect the two wires that go to it, the engine will start fine, run 20 minutes, then shut down.

Thank you, Michael.

First thing you can try is loosening the gas cap. If the vent in the cap is clogged it creates a vacuum in the tank and the pump can't supply fuel. Letting it sit for a while allows the vacuum  pressure to relieve and then you're on your way for 20 minutes again until the vacuum pressure builds up again, repeat.

If that works, poke a small wire through to clean the vent holes

The sensor does nothing but illuminate the light on the dash if the engine overheats.  Put it back like it was.

There is an ignition module behind the flywheel that can get heat sensitive and cause the exact issue you are having.  Do the fuel cap test and inspect the 9 pin connector near the battery.  Try to rule out fuel delivery issues as well.  Those modules are expensive so doing the checks first might save you from needless expense.

If you pull a plug wire and stick a good spark plug in it and ground the hex against the engine then watch for spark as you run the starter, do this immediately after it shuts down.  No spark might well be the module.  Now wait till it cools and repeat, if the spark reappears the module is very likely the cause.
