bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) The lapping machine has a small motor affixed to the bottom of the aluminum pan, a counterweight attached to the motor shaft creates an orbital motion. The motor is bolted to a cup, the eccentric runs inside the cup which is attached to the bottom of the aluminum pan which sits on rubber snubbers, springs would also work. Epoxy the motor cup to the bottom of your choice of plate. Diamond grit or peel and stick wet n dry abrasive paper. Edited July 25, 2020 by bcgold
bc.gold 3,403 #2 Posted July 25, 2020 The counter weight give the table orbital motion, this motor instead will be used to make a shaker table used to recover silver. Electrical contacts used in electric ranges, washer, dryer timers and hot water tank thermostats are silver plated. Silver is a soft metal which is easily abraded free from the surface from which it has been plated. Once the material has been removed from the ball mill the shaker table separates the silver from the copper and iron. Which at the point all have taken the form of metal filings.
