no reverse on 16-38 hxl

Recommended Posts

I have been using my mower and love it, but the last few times it was hard to get it to go in reverse ( it took some doing to push the lever down enough to get it to engage.

today, it will not go into reverse at all.  It drives just fine in forward.  Is there some adjustment I am missing. I looked at a belt diagram for this model, but cannot figure out how they get it to go in reverse.

The belt does not look too bad, so don't know if that is a problem or not.  Anyone have any ideas.  Thanks

Not familiar with that machine, but no doubt some folks will be along with some input!

I don't know anything about them either. Since it works in forward it sounds like the shift linkage is restricted for reverse. Is it full of grass clippings?

Thanks for the reply.  I don't see any obstructions, I guess I am going to have to remove the mower deck and investigate further.

Got everything apart and found the stick that was jamming my reverse.  All good now, thanks again for the insight, you were spot on..

I had different opinions before yours, change the belt, adjustment, etc. none of those were the case.

Thanks again,
