Shynon 7,459 #1 Posted July 17, 2020 Just curious what others are using for home security cameras, systems? Pros/cons? Let me know what you have and your likes and dislikes Thanks Tom
DET 105 #2 Posted July 17, 2020 We have the Arlo Pro. It is a wireless system by Netgear. Ours came with 4 cameras that attach with a magnetic bracket. This makes it easy to move the camera to a different position or change the rechargeable battery. It is also nice to take down in an area where there will be a lot of traffic so as not to get a lot of notices and run down the battery. The up front cost is kind of pricey but there is no other cost involved. Arlo will hold your video on there server for 7 days so you can go back and review it. rjg854 11,350 #4 Posted July 17, 2020 I have an Amcrest 4 camera system. It's a dvr system that allows me to see any action on my phone, either motion activated, or record according to settings, or full time. I can adjust field of view or just record certain areas in the camera's view. It's a fairly economical unit, that is updatable. I've had it for a few years, and it still functions like new. Also it writes over it self, but holds weeks of action before that happens.

JPWH 6,033 #6 Posted July 18, 2020 I installed a wisenet 8 channel system about 4 years ago. It's a hard wired system that comes with a 60' premade cable for each camera. I installed the system in about 7 hours. Cameras are infared for clear night video as well. You can set it up to alert your phone if motion is detected. It has a recorder that loops about every seven days. No issues so far. Jay
