mrc 841 #1 Posted July 15, 2020 hello men, i have a C160 auto. pressing gently on the motion control lever everything seems o.k. tractor moves forward and backwards as expected. however, sometimes when i let go of the lever the tractor will violently increase speed. this happens when going in forward or reverse. all comments welcome. thank you mike in mass. BOB ELLISON 2,981 #2 Posted July 15, 2020 There is an adjustment for that. Go to manuals and get yours .it will tell you how to adjust your tractor.
daveoman1966 3,762 #3 Posted July 15, 2020 My guess... Broken tab on the Friction Control Rod on the left side of the hoodstand. If this weld is BROKEN, the motion control linkage will move around as if it had it own mind.

mrc 841 #5 Posted July 23, 2020 thank you dave and bob, after removing the seat, fender pan, floor board and belt guard i found this: the drive belt tension pulley was bad. the bearing in the middle was MIA! all that was left of the bearing was the inner bushing! i adjusted the linkage according to the manual and all is well. i feel as though i dodged a bullet! it has a 13 fin K341 engine. pics enclosed. regards mike in mass. 1
