520h or hc???

Recommended Posts

Silveradojeff

Hi guys. New to the site. Purchased my first wheel horse but won’t receive it until tomorrow but the guy says it’s a 20h? I’m thinking he means 520h but says it has a 60”deck and has chrome breather cover which makes me think it’s an h but does the h come with a 60” deck? Really I’m hopeing it’s a hc. Any thoughts? Thanks

Both great tractors. The optional 60'' deck is a beast I'm sure, all 322lbs of it. Good luck with your purchase.    :text-welcomeconfetti:to    :rs:

:WRS:  A 60" deck was available for a 520H if the tractor was equipped with a forward swept front axle. There are not a huge amount of  different features on a 520HC when compared to a 520H. A 520H will be comparably slower than a 520HC.

The HC had a taller black air cleaner and no stainless muffler heat shield and only 2 or 3 gauges compared to the H... And the top speed is about 1-1.5 mph faster but can you really mow at top speed :eusa-think:.

Great tractor in all 4 seasons, even my better half can handle it.

HC has all the gauges but only the one light and that is for oil pressure.

Rest is correct, a larger air cleaner, no chrome, geared faster, swept front axle with no gear reduction, no louvers in the hood.

Welcome to THE forum! Glad you found us.  I can’t wait to see pics of your new tractor.  :popcorn:the 520 is a very capable and legendary :wh: and I’m sure yours will be no different.  Sometimes there are details that need a little love given the age of these tractors, but get that sorted out (of needed) and you have a lifetime worker.  The HC would be a rare and cool bonus...

Yea I thought the HC’s were more rare. That’s why I hoped it was one but I think it’s an H. Can anyone tell me how many h and hc’s were made??

@Silveradojeff    Have never heard of any production #'s on any WheelHorse tractors other than the 520- 8 at 225 units and the 420-LSE at 200 units built.
