kthomas62 44 #1 Posted July 7, 2020 (edited) Good evening all! Needing some expert advice please! Please pardon me for not using the correct terminology for some of these parts. Hahaha. So one of my 414-8's had some kind of jacked up muffler on it and I was very lucky to find the correct one for $35.00. I also needed the exhaust elbow, that mounts to the engine, and the muffler U-clamps to. This said, In order for me to have clearance to screw it into the engine, I had to remove the governor rod from the shaft. I reinstalled it and started the mower and I believe it idles at about the same RPM that it always did, but now if I push the throttle all the ways up, it seems to be running much faster than it's original governed speed, so in order for it to run about where it did, it needs to be at about 1/2 or 3/4 throttle. I assume that I have something out of adjustment now, so wondering what I need to do, in order to adjust the high throttle back down. Thanks in advance for any advice!! Kevin.
