71_Bronco 1,072 #8 Posted July 7, 2020 Looks like a neat idea. Just not sure how strong the draw-bars are on these. Maybe some experts can weigh in here.

I have done some really heavy towing/dragging (near 1000 lbs) with my 520 and no adverse affects yet bought it new and have used it as a tractor since. David Ullman 142 #10 Posted July 7, 2020 I have used it to move my trailer around with a tractor on the trailer, it is a load but it did the job.
lynnmor 7,302 #11 Posted July 7, 2020 (edited) I had a ball mounted on the drawbar and bent it right down with a heavier than average popup camper. I made a ball mount that pins to the drawbar and also links to the upper transmission bolt. With this setup, I have the ball higher and as far forward as possible. The popup is long gone, but the hitch will handle a 6-1/2' x 12' trailer piled high with mulch. In the photo you will see that the support is in two pieces pinned together. I just drop a pin in the drawbar and pin the support. The upper part stays on the tractor. Edited July 7, 2020 by lynnmor 1
David Ullman 142 #12 Posted July 7, 2020 I made one of those myself, they work good, but I'm just thinking outside the box I guess.
David Ullman 142 #13 Posted July 7, 2020 The other thing I did was drilled and tapped the front of the draw bar, then used a bolt to take up the play. With a small plate between the draw bar and transmission to distribute the weight.
