twiisted71 50 #1 Posted July 5, 2020 good grief! After perusing the manuals section I saw teh schematic for the PTO on horizontal engines!! What is needed for maintenance on the bearings in the PTO? Mine seems ok but as this is a new to me mower I'd like to go through as much of the maintenance/wear honey-do stuff before it becomes a problem. I have a C-81 with K181 8 hp. Are friction disks available for these?
squonk 41,145 #2 Posted July 5, 2020 Discs are available. Take out the pin thru the pto hoop. Take out the pin on the arm from your PTO lever at the triangle piece at the motor. Swing the hoop out of the way and slide the PTO pulley off. Check the outer pin for smoothness when turning. Check inner bearing for roughness and grease LIGHTLY! If either bearings need replacement there are threads inhere on how to do it. Pretty easy.
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #3 Posted July 5, 2020 There is a needle bearing on the inside of the bell. best that you replace the seal so grease does not get on to the clutch disk. The outer bearing is sealed but I'm not sure of the part numbers. There are some discs around and you can get the material and the rivets still.
