We’re here!  Well we are just a few miles from there!  But first, Waffle House!  A delicacy you won’t find in Michigan...

Great coffee, full bellies!

WHAT??  no waffle house how do you make it through the day? No scattered smothered covered diced chopped or

chunked.... am I missing one?
I am within five minutes from one!

Well, we are loaded up, Jada got boots in the Fort Worth Stockyards, and we’re headed for home tomorrow!  The airbnb is just a few minutes from the cousin’s and there is no room to turn around the towed vehicle, so we are hooking up at 4:30 and rolling out!

Welcome to Texas,  enjoy your short stay. I would have tried to meet up with you, but I’m about 4 hours South west of Dallas.

Homeward bound!  Stopping at Duke’s for some breakfast and caffeine and there’s a lot of emergency vehicles heading east.  I hope the victims fare well, and that we can find a way around.  60 mph is comfortable and the transmission is happy!

the 33” front tires, a 19” TV looking for a trash can and the running boards are in there too.  Not too extreme, keeping total weight manageable.  If this was 100 miles, you betcha it’d be packed full of treasures!

7-1/2 hours since leaving our rental house in Lewisville, TX.  The rig is stable at 70 mph, but we determined 62-63 is a sweet spot.  There’s a tad bit of push from the dolly at times, but all is well!

I actually suggested that speed for care of the wheel bearings :D

We are in the 16-17 mpg range, somehow!  I guessed 12-14.  Trans temps are about 196-198 and ambient temp is 91 :handgestures-thumbupright:

Rolling up 57 through Illinois you'll be within about fifty miles of me.  I should have lay in wait along the road and tossed something in the truck as you rolled by.

Feel free to take some of this humidity back north with you.

 Be safe traveling!

Steve

I hope that you take pictures with a real camera or immediately print your cell phone pictures on paper. So much of this “I have pictures on my phone” is crap. Or I have it in the iCloud. Until it’s in an album for the next generation to see I’m afraid all this digital stuff will make those memories a thing of the past. Maybe I’m getting older but you can’t beet a picture in your hand. Safe travels 👍🏻

My mother is a scrap book (Creative Memories) sales rep.  She’s a scrapper like @PeacemakerJack’s wife.  We have albums and albums of stuff and enjoy looking through them too!  Thanks Don!

pos?  That doesn’t ever fit with a Chevy in the same sentence...

Although, did you see the license plate?  I hope “JuNK isn’t an omen!

Denny’s at the Pilot in Gilman, IL!  I’m miserably stuffed and extremely happy at the same time!  Gonna nap in the back for a bit, then take last shift once we pass Chi-town!
