Sun strand rebuild

Went through all the parts on the case first to make sure everything was correct.

I had the parking brake pawl fixed and make sure all the gears are turning properly. Polished up the slippers and the swash plate.

:confusion-confused:         Have you found the rest of the bolts for the differential?              :ychain:

Yes I do have all the bolts but I put in two for a dry fit to hold it together. I'm going to get new locking or Nila nuts for the bolts .
I'm having some issues with one of the axles that has been repaired by the previous owner which does look like it was done correctly but my thoughts are now is the time to replace it if there are any doubts.

Look at the base of the CYLINDER BLOCK.   and the CHARGE PUMP housing with the GEROTOR SET.  ALL of these parts need to have smooth surfaces...no deep scratches or gouges.

So I'm looking to trade out the bolts on this differential that are about 3 1/4 inch long. 3 1/2 is too long and 3 inches too short. I could just leave the grade 5 bolt in it they seem to be OK.

Here's what I got so far. Just got my box today from McMaster Carr and I must say it was a speedy delivery! Great service there. Now I can start putting some painted parts together to look like a tractor. I still have a ways to go on the transmission.

Got in a little deeper I found this broken spring. Thankfully I have a donor transmission with two good ones!

Just ordered the complete O-ring , seal and Gasket set today from l J fluid power .
I spoke with l J himself and was very very polite and helpful. I have a 90- 2046

and the complete set was only $42.. should have this thing together within a couple of weeks and ready to put back on the transmission.

hello tuul crib, the broken springs that you pictured:

                       are they acceleration valve springs?

                       are new springs available?

                       if so, where?

                       thank you mike in mass.

The ones that are broken are not the Excelerator valve springs. The Excelerator springs are available through wheel horse parts and more in the vendors section here.

I just got the seal kit from LJ fluid power for the Sunstrand transmission. It comes with every seal , o ring  and gasket necessary to make it happen. 44 bucks. Does anyone know the torque specs on these 10 bolts? @daveoman1966
