Stupid Husky GT!

Ok so i dont im my opinion consider this machine a garden tractor even tho it has bolt on wheels and it says GT. But anyways I am doing a favor for the guy(my wife's cuzin) who got my $20 wheelhorse tiller for me. I am tuning it up and changing the oil. I did the lashing on this 24hp briggs(4457770263E1) and now she runs better. I set the valves at .006. But I cant seem to shut it off with the key it acts like it wants to but wont unless i jiggle it or plug the seat safety switch back in. It has some wiring issues. I am terrible at wiring can anybody guide me to what to do to fix this issue? Also i am going to change the oil and filter and online i found the breakdown of this engine and the filter says its a 492932S and it has a much longer filter on it but it has a Briggs sticker on it why? I am going to put one of my stens filters on it a 120-485. and use sae30. What a hot mess. LOL I have a video of when I first started it. I did the lashing now it doesn't sputter. and before anybody says anything like on Facebook I know it needs the shrouds to stay cool i didn't work it or run it but for a couple mins. LOL

Well done nathan -

i see on first pict, the insulation on the green wire is definitely damaged ( maybe clamped) i would fix that

before any issues will happen.

Also the wire ( think its the ground) below the red is damaged - maybe as a result of that molten cable.

it seems to me that can be the ground to solenoid, but im not sure about that Pict.

in the second Pict (upper middle) i detected a fail bowden, that will maybe shortly rip.

maybe also this upstanding wires causes the short, that melts the wire behind the Red on the Pict above

i believe it goes to the Solenoid.

Just for info.
