peter lena 8,583 #1 Posted June 26, 2020 my decks are very quiet, so when a rattling type of noise suddenly came up, i quickly dropped the deck and looked around, spindles were smooth and quiet . found the center spindle drive pulley to be a little loose , causing the rattling sound against the keyway , examination showed no damage to keyway or pulley. i had tightened everything up after rebuild ,re tightened with electric impact and 6 point impact socket . everything smooth and easy turning , added a couple of drops of 75x90 gear oil to the idler pulley bearing , when the bearing area bubbles up , its sucking in the lube. remounted deck and the quiet is back, staying after it , pete 1

squonk 41,038 #3 Posted June 26, 2020 (edited) I have had an issue with certain fasteners using an electric impact does not tighten it completely. Recheck by hand or torque wrench. ( No hub clamp on a sewer pipe above the boss' desk was the first time) Edited June 26, 2020 by squonk
